Sigma L2 is an Italian lighting company whose projects range from private homes to yachts and public spaces. Through continuous evolution, Sigma L2 adapts to new lighting trends while pioneering its own. Each of its lighting fixtures, tables and decorative objects is unique, and each is distinctly Sigma L2.
Founders Paolo and Gianna Granchi began the company as a small enterprise in the 1960s and later passed it down to their sons, Simone and Francesca. Their family heritage includes a 10th-century Florentine sculptor named Delio, whose legacy informs their ongoing artistic endeavors.
A current focus on eclectic materials reflects the second generation’s interest in experimentation and researching new stylistic directions. Sigma L2 combines materials like wood and marble, stone and leather, brass and steel, and ceramics, never settling on one particular form or style.
That constant state of renewal is best seen in the wide selection of chandeliers. One dynamic example — the 7166/9 Chandelier — has chopstick-like rods that cascade down its center. These are surrounded by brass arms that support lights covered in pink silk shades with gold interiors. The 7241/N Tubular Crystal Chandelier has a single brass and hand-faceted crystal tube, a design that is modern, minimalist and completely different. The 7294 Majolica Pendant Lamp features glazed Majolica pottery with plexiglass detailing in a concentric shape.
