The images he took were never used for the article that celebrated her acceptance of the Oscar for best actress of 1960 for her role as a semi-pro call girl in the movie Butterfield 8. Shaw’s stunning portraits show Taylor in her Oscar ceremony finery, a dress called “Soiree a Rio” from Dior’s Spring-Summer 1961 Haute Couture collection.
