This Art Nouveau gold lorgnette likely originates from the United States during the first 20 years of the 20th Century. Crafted from 14 karat yellow gold the lorgnette is extremely simple in its design and is virtually void of ornamentation with the exception of some fine scrollwork around the lens casing. The lenses that are currently fitted are likely original, and whilst in-tact do have some abrasions to the surface of the glass. The piece is marked internally for 14 karat gold and also has a makers mark in the form of a Maltese cross inside a circle, which is currently unidentified. In good condition the piece only has some minor dents to the gold which are commensurate with age. Once a very frequently used object, this wondrous lorgnette would be a beautiful pendant on a long chain for someone wanting a piece of gold...

We are very excited to present this wonderful handcrafted bracelet by Mario Buccellati. The two tone bracelet consists of woven gold ovals of alternating 18 karat yellow and 18 karat white gold that has been woven or braided. The interlocked links have then been very finely brushed to give a softer matte finish which could be described as a Florentine finish. The bracelet features a tongue and box clasp and two figure of eight safety catches which are all incorporated into an integrated link clasp. The clasp and safety catches are working well and are secure, ensuring the piece stays on tightly with three points of attachment. Whilst this bracelet is on the smaller side in terms of its circumference it certainly makes up for that in its quality craftsmanship by arguably Italy's most highly regarded goldsmith, Mario Buccellati. Whilst it is hard to give a precise date for its manufacture it is likely to date to the late 20th Century. An exceptional piece of Italian gold jewellery...

The most wonderful 18 karat yellow gold, ruby and diamond spray brooch from the 1950s. The handcrafted cocktail brooch appears as stylised feathers which have been accented with spines of brilliant cut rubies and semi modern brilliant cut diamonds. The 30 semi modern brilliant cut diamonds are of G/H colour and SI clarity totalling 1.20 carat while the 26 rubies total 6.50 carat. The spray brooch pin sweeps down and pins in place with a hinged twin pin and tube type clasp. The piece is reminiscent of the style of brooches that were popularised in the 1950s by people like Wallis Simpson the Duchess of Windsor and Princess Grace of Monaco. The most incredible pair of gold ear clips by perhaps the most famous modernist jeweller to have lived, Andrew Grima. Formed from 18 karat gold this 'nest' style pair of ear clips are crafted with satin finished gold bars which interconnect, each centring on an octagonal citrine and accented with baguette cut diamonds. The three dimensional clips are typical of the work by Grima in the 1960s and is reminiscent of some of the famed pieces he made for royalty and high society. The rear of the clips are marked for Haller Jewellery Company which is where Grima first began designing his jewels before forming his own company. Fully hallmarked with London hallmarks, the ear clips (and matching brooch) are assayed for 1965. To the rear there are hinged clips which are working well and are secure. Andrew Grima most notably has designed jewels for Princess Margaret, Princess Anne and the Queen, and his jewels in recent years have become extremely desirable.
