About Egidi Madeinitaly srl

I was born in Rome. For several generations my husband’s family have been antique dealers and from them I have inherited a taste for beauty, knowledge about antique objects and care for a demanding clientele that is always on the lookout for rare objects. For many years I ran two galleries in the heart of Rome, a few steps away from Piazza Navona, one in Piazza dell’Orologio and one in via dei Coronari. In 2002 I decided to improve my qualifications and subsequently became an official Expert in Italian furniture for the Chamber of Commerce of Rome and for the Rome Civil ...Read More

Mid-Century Saint Louis Style Set of 33 Glasses Stella Collection Model
By Saint Louis
Located in Roma, IT
Mid-Century Saint Louis Style Set of 33 Glasses Stella Collection Model This important set of 33 glasses displays the style characteristics of the Stella collection by Cristallerie Saint Louis, a design originally introduced in the 1960s. This elegant crystal goblet features a classic combination of intricate glass-cutting and luxurious gilding, characteristic of high-end European stemware from the late 19th to mid-20th century. This wonderfull set exemplifies the Empire or Beaux-Arts style, prioritizing symmetry and opulence. The contrast between the matte-like texture of the gold etching and the sharp, brilliant facets of the clear crystal creates a sophisticated visual hierarchy. Crafted from high-quality French lead crystal (traditionally 31% lead content), known for its superior brilliance and weight. The bowl features intricate hand-cut diamond faceting which creates a classic textured pattern that maximizes light refraction. Each glass is finished with a broad 24K gold rim at the lip, often featuring acid-etched or encrusted floral and scrollwork motifs typical of the "Stella Gold" or "Stella Encrusted" variations. The bowl is deeply cut lower section transitioning to a smooth upper section for the gold border. A faceted, sturdy stem that supports the bowl and provides a comfortable grip. regardind the base, a wide, circular foot with radial star-cut patterns on the underside to ensure stability and added visual detail from above. While heavily influenced by the 19th-century Thistle pattern—Saint Louis's most iconic and "regal" collection—the Stella line is a more modern mid-20th-century interpretation. It maintains the heavy, luxurious feel of traditional French stemware...

Bavarian Porcelain Dinnerware Set By Carl Schumann Factory 54 Pieces
Located in Roma, IT
Bavarian Porcelain Dinnerware Set By Carl Schumann Factory 54 Pieces This wonderful dinnerware set, produced by the Carl Schumann Porcelain Factory in Arzberg, is a quintessential example of mid-20th-century Bavarian porcelain craftsmanship. [Crafted from high-quality, translucent white porcelain, frequently referred to in the industry as "White Gold" for its purity and delicate resonance. The set features the iconic "Echt Cobalt" (True Cobalt) underglaze technique. The central motif is the "Dresden Flowers" or "Blue Rose" pattern. It consists of finely detailed, hand-painted floral bouquets, often featuring a central rose surrounded by smaller wildflowers and foliage. The pieces exhibit Rococo Revival influences, seen in the scalloped edges and the subtle basketweave (ozier) relief or "Rose Relief" embossing along the rims. Many items are finished with a delicate gold gilt trim or "Dresden edge," adding a layer of formal elegance and highlighting the rhythmic, scalloped borders. Established in 1881 in Arzberg, Bavaria, the Schumann factory became renowned for its sophisticated "Dresdner Art". This specific style remains highly collectible due to its fusion of traditional 18th-century European floral aesthetics with the refined production standards of 20th-century German manufacturing.
