This is an elegant lacquered and shaped wooden box, with fine and polychrome flowers decoration on yellow background. In the center of the lid a bouquet of flowers has been painted and on the top of this one, rests a little bird with a long tail framed by a flowery ramage and crossed by a red ribbon. This brighting piece hails from the Mid-18th Century in Venezia and masterfully shows the lacquered Venetian style. This is a magnificent lacquered wooden box, with rich polychrome decoration on a yellow background. In the center of the lid an exotic landscape has been painted with palm, flowers and berries surrounding the figure of the elegant dressed lady. The box has done following the techinque of "arte povera". With this tecnique there are less layers of lacquer and the decoration is made with a paper collage together some lacquered parts. This is a large and bright red and yellow lacquered wooden box, entirely decorated with prints cut and applied with the tecnique called "arte povera" . At the centre of the lid a large country landscape with figures inspired by 18th Century Venetian views that recall the themes of Arcadia. Pocket snuff flask carved from coquille nut. Amazing small pocket snuff bottle, carved from a large coquille nut. This antique piece was created in the shape of a spinning top with two secret compartments which can be unscrewed to open. Made in the continental Europe and most probably French or Portuguese provenance from the 18th century, circa 1780. Extensively decorated with organic and floral motifs with a beautiful image of a nut on the upper part. Curiously due to the shape of this piece, it could be played as a spinning tool on a table.
