Pair of Studio Turned Vessels, circa 2003
Norfolk Island Pine, each signed and dated
A striking pair of turned vessels by acclaimed Hawai‘i-based woodturner Kelly Dunn, each crafted from richly figured Norfolk Island pine. The works exhibit Dunn’s signature attention to form and grain, with highly polished surfaces accentuating the natural knots, spalting, and warm golden hues characteristic of this exotic wood. The distinctive forms—one slightly ovoid, the other squat and rounded—highlight Dunn’s sensitivity to balance and organic variation.
Both pieces are incised on the underside:
One reads: “Kelly Dunn / Norfolk Pine / 2003”
The other: “Kelly Dunn / Big Island / Norfolk Pine / 2003”
Dimensions:
Taller vessel: 8.5 in. H x 7 in. W
Shorter vessel: 7.5 in. H x 8 in. W

Good. Minor adhesive residue to one base; natural inclusions and knotwork are inherent to the material. Overall, surfaces are finely finished and well preserved.
