The small Moorish brass vases are finely hand-chased with elaborate designs and presented on hand crafted wooden Arabian brackets inlaid with shell and Syrian fretwork decor.
Engraving (Ghalam-zani) is a term, for artistic metalworking, it is one of the original Persian handicraft, the art of engraving and embossing, hammering, repousse and chasing elaborate designs, patterns and shapes on metals such as copper, silver, gold, and brass to form minute detailed reliefs or small engraved patterns.
Art engraving has a long history in Iran and in the Middle East back to more than several thousand years ago.
