Iridescent Loetz Glass Vase with Flower Opening, 1940s
By Loetz Glass
Located in Milano, MI
Vase in Austrian iridescent Loetz glass, with a shape with a flower opening and colors from purple to beetle, made in the 1940s Measures: Ø cm 18 h cm 11 The production of Loetz glass began with Johan Loetz (1778-1848) in the 18th century through the takeover of the Klostermühle glassworks. In the second half of the 19th century, his nephew took charge of the modernization of the glassworks, introducing, thanks to the assistance of the inventor Eduard Prochaska, new processing techniques: thus new processes were born with glass in imitation of semi-precious stones, veins and the decoration. , which during processing includes hot coils or colored glass pads. Finally, at the end of the 19th century, the creation of the first glass iridescences with metallic reflections began, up to the creation of Phänomen in glass with applications and inserts of partially metallized glass filaments, similar to Tiffany glass and the famous Papillon glass...

Early 20th Century Art Deco Bronze Sculpture Elephants, Irénée Rochard
By Irénée Rochard
Located in Casteren, Noord-Brabant
A fine bronze casted sculpture of a Elephant with a calf, resting on a black Belgium marble base. The bronze has the original olive-brown patina. It is made in France, circa 1930-1940. Signed: Irénée ROCHARD. The sculpture has a beautiful patina and is in good condition. After casting the bronze is finely finished with fine chisels, for the fine details. This chiseling process was an enormously time-consuming job. Irénée Rochard was born in Villefranche sur Saône France in 1906, In a family of artists: his mother was a painter and his brother became The actor-singer Armand MESTRAL. When he chose the course of an artist’s life too, he soon turned to animal Sculpting in order to,as he used to say: pay tribute to animal. 19th Century Samson Paris Porcelain Trinket Box
By Samson & Cie
Located in Dallas, TX
Presenting a gorgeous French 19th century Samson Paris Porcelain Trinket Box probably by Edme Samson. Marked on the base with “Made in France” and unmistakably in the style and manner of Samson. The lid features hand painted floral bouquets on an ivory porcelain background with gold edging, surrounded by a sky blue lid with gold web or crackling effect.. The lid is hinged and the lid and base are edged in floral gilt metal mounts with Fleur De Lis clasp. It sits on 4 gilt metal or ormolu feet. The sides are likewise hand decorated. This wonderful antique hand painted box is just bursting with History. Inspired by Edme Samson of Samson & Co., Paris. we believe (based upon the markings and natural aging) that it was made between 1880– 1890 in France and was meant to resemble an antique of a much earlier period. It is very similar to Sevres pieces with it’s color, decoration and design. Samson specialized in reproducing antiques from the 1600 and 1700s. One of his most interesting works was his Heraldic or Armorial pieces. With this medium sized box, he was not only copying the larger porcelain caskets or coffin boxes...
