This original vintage Studio Pottery Object was designed by Gerhard Liebenthron and produced in his own Studio in the 1970s in Bremen Germany. It is made of stoneware pottery ceramic and has a very unique brown tone coloration and surface structure. the inside of the shell is very green brown, the special is that the inside glaze is made of melted glass. The bottom is marked with typical Liebenthron Producer signature GL and year signature 74. A very collectible and very rare item of the Liebenthron Collection.
Straightforward and minimalistic design of the 1970s design era. This item is a wonderful addition to every modern home.

VITA Liebenthron:
From 1945-1951 Liebenthron studied at the Staatliche Kunstschule Bremen (school of arts) in the pottery class of Else Krieg & Dorothea Colberg-Tjadens. in 1951 Liebenthron has been the Assistant of the sculptor Prof. Goersemann there.
After Liebenthron finished his time at the Kunstschule he opened his own workshop in the Boettcherstraße, Bremen (in 1952).
Gerhard Liebenthron's work can be found in several museums in Germany. The Keramik Museum in Berlin, the Fockemuseum in Bremen and the Hetiens Museum in Düsseldorf for example. He has been a member of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Kunsthandwerk Bremen.
