Vintage Culver Set of Six Rock Glasses Frosted Gold and Black Regency Pattern They will create a dramatic display for a back bar or table setting. Midcentury low ball cocktail glasses frosted glass decorated with 24 K gold leaf and black. Size: 4" tall, 3 1/4" mouth opening diameter. Signed in gold "Culver Ltd "on each glass. Description: Wide Frosted, Silver And Gold Bands Pattern: Regency by Culver Status: Discontinued. Culver Glass Company – Lavish and Opulent Cocktail ware of the 1950s – 1960s Culver Ltd was a glass company famous for their stunning decorative glassware in 22-karat gold. Culver Ltd was founded in Brooklyn, New York in 1939 by Irving Rothenberg. Culver Glass features real 22-karat gold decoration used effusively and magnificently especially from the late 1950’s on through the 1960’s. The company gained notoriety and its products became highly collectible and only sold at high-end department stores. In 1980, the company moved to downtown Rahway, New Jersey. Irving Rothenberg passed away in 1987 and his son, Mark ‘Mickey’ Rothenberg, continued the Culver Glass Company. Mickey ran the company until he sold Culver Ltd. in 1996 to Moderne Glass Company, Inc. Mickey Rothenberg continued in the glass manufacturing business by running another glass company until his death on 9/11. He was one of the passengers on the hijacked Newark-to-San-Francisco flight that crashed in Pennsylvania. The company’s early production line featured acid etch, decalcomania, sandblasted, hand-painted, banded, sand-cut monogramming and silk screen. In the late 1950’s, Culver Ltd started the application of the 22-karat gold to their glassware. The super-heated, roll-on process of gold remains a secret today. By the 1980’s, Culver stopped making its own glass and began using glassware...

Located in Miami, FL

Mid Century Modern grouping of 15 American Modern tall goblets designed by Russel Wright and manufactured by Morgantown. Consisting of 15 Granite Gray stem glassware in three different sizes all in Very Good condition. Since the glasses were hand blown, slight differences of colors and dimensions occured. American Modern was a line of Mid Century Modern tableware for entertaining designed by Russel Wright (1904-1976) in the 1930s. It was a popular collection of Modern shapes and colors for dishes and glassware produced from 1939-1959. The glass articles for this line were produced by Morgantown Glassware Guild and the dishes by Steubenville Pottery. The glasses were available in coral (pink). chartreuse, gray and seafoam. This line was so popular that even Elanor Roosevelt and Mamie Eisenhower had a set of dishes and because of the high quality of the glass production at Morgantown, it was chosen as the supplier of glassware for the Kennedy White House. Morgantown Glass Works was founded in 1899 in West Virginia to produce pressed and hand blown glassware. White Lights is a set of handblown transparent glasses with an organic shape inspired by the natural surface of the land. Nightlights of Mexico City collection of classic glasses inspired by the nightlife of Mexico’s cultural golden age in the 1950s. It was a time when the city life was cosmopolitan and the night was about dressing up and drinking cocktails in the club, watching the magnificent mambo dancers and musicians and then dancing a skeleton shake with the salsa and cumbia rhythms. This atmosphere was surrounded by a warm and low light and there on the table was our drink, shining with the sequin dresses in the night and the brass instruments and the laughs and the stars in the sky. Mexico city came alive at night. From the traditional workshops in Tonalá, Jalisco, we present this collection of handblown glasses made in 100% recycled glass...
