About the Item

Pair English exotic equestrian serving dishes. Pair mocha and Bordeaux banded and shaped serving dishes/trays centering two equestrian groupings; one with mounted ottomans in fancy dress on two horses in front of a walled landscape, the other featuring a chinoiserie couple, the man on horseback speaking to a lady with fan before pagodas and palm trees. All gorgeously attired with richly coloured and fringed garments. The complementary trays with identical cartouche headed handles. Possibly Spode. England, 1830’s. Dimensions: Ottomans 11.25" W x 9.5" D x 2" H; Chinoiserie 11 .25" W x 9" D x 1.75" H.
