PRESENTING A EXCEPTIONAL, RARE and MONUMENTAL Pair of Late 19C French Empire Brass Wall Sconces. These matching pair of wall sconces or wall lights are LARGE! Made in France, circa 1890 of solid brass in the Empire Style. Each, is three and a half foot tall (41 inches) and each has 5 branches/lights, with frosted glass flame/torch shades. Unusually, the branches, lights and shades all point downwards, probably due to the Size of each sconce. They are flush mounted wall sconces/lights and weigh around 30 lbs each. At the top they have the Classic ribbon bow. As you move downwards, the have a large convex medallion/armorial medallion, with swags and laurel wreaths below The lower portion has a central tassel swag over a fluted architectural column which ends with an acorn/flower bulb style finial. Each light branch is decorated with a floral curved and scrolling leaf. The rear of the sconces has all the ‘oxidization’ one would expect from late 19th century pieces. Fully operational and in great condition. Good quality casting. Not marked, but were undoubtedly made by a top French maker! WE ‘DARE’ YOU TO FIND ANOTHER PAIR! A Very Fine French or Russian 19th Century Empire Style Mahogany, Ormolu Mounted and Parcel-Gildwood Carved Crib & Bedding. The egg-shaped oblong rocking cradle supported at each end by columnar standards.The cradle base conforms to the rocking cradle and is adorned with laurel wreath gild bronze corner crests, all supported on cabriole legs with finely cast gild bronze acanthus leaf mounts. Turned gilded bedding and drapery support having a cast gilt bronze terminal of an eagle holding a ring in its beak. It also includes mattresses, bedding, Irish hand embroidered linens and matching draperies. One pair of Irish linen draperies measures 25" X 124". One pair measures 20" (10" with curtain rod hooks) x 124". Some ormolu bear the letters "P.R."; "N.H"; ":E.J" and other mounts bear what appear to be a name in cyrillic. Circa: 1860-1870. PRESENTING AN ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING 19C French Empire Style Style Complete Bedroom Suite/Set. HIGHLY, IMPORTANT AND UNIQUE Empire Style Bedroom Suite or Set from circa 1880. The Suite/Set is almost completely original, save the bed, which was originally twin size, but professionally commissioned to be customized and converted into a Euro King Size for modern practicality. The quality of the conversion matches the quality of the suite/set. All pieces have gilt bronze mounted fittings; beautiful patina, beautiful parquetry; beautiful carrara marble tops, simply stunning! About 10 years ago, I saw the ‘identical twin’ of the Commode in an Antique Store on Central Park in New York, however it had a less desirable green marble top (IMHO), and they were looking for 30k USD for the Commode, on its OWN! This Suite/Set is SO GOOD that it is the main exhibit in our rear Showroom. Not marked but under the marble top of the commode there are 2 signatures in pencil (1) M. Le Youters (?) and (2) M. Daneels. You will NOT find another complete suite/set like this ANYWHERE! Rare and spectacular, late 19th century chest of drawers. This beautiful Empire style commode has obviously been used, but the condition is good to excellent. It has a beautifu warm color, but we have never seen this exotic wood ( burl/burr )with the leopard like dots. This unique chest is practical in size, marvelous in shape and the beautiful, gilt bronze Empire style elements also are wonderful to look at. The practical drawers with the stylish and top-class bronze handles, the wonderfully shaped legs with the bronze feet, the original marble top with its natural lines/veins, they all make this antique commode extra special. All drawers still run smoothly, they are very clean on the inside (made of solid oak) and they all come with the original, uniquely designed and perfectly fitted, brass handles and key. Because of the size of the drawers, this one of a kind commode can hold a whole lot. Moreover, it is as stabile as the day it was made and thanks to its pleasing design it can be used in all sorts of interiors and for all kinds of purposes.
