Top class chandelier with an extra large, hand carved alabaster shade. Thanks to its extra large size and great condition this alabaster chandelier is one of the best alabaster chandeliers that we have ever seen or sold. This antique and entirely hand-carved alabaster chandelier will light up your days and evenings in a way that no modern fixture ever could. Anyone who has ever seen one in real life knows exactly what we are talking about. For this stunning, four light specimen they clearly used the perfect alabaster rock, because this unique shade comes with numerous and evenly divided black veins. That combined with the whiter veins and patches that have formed in this mineral stone over a period of thousands of years makes it truly special. We have several interior designer clients who are looking for these largest of alabaster chandeliers and they know that finding one over 25 inches in diameter is like the proverbial needle in the haystack. This not only is one of the largest (in diameter) antique alabaster pendants that we have ever had the pleasure of offering, it also is one of the deepest/highest. However, what takes this rare size chandelier to a level of its own are the scrolling leaf and flower patterns that are deeply and sharply hand carved all around the body. This level of workmanship was rare, even in the early 1900s and since this light would have cost a small fortune in those days, you can rest assure that only the best artisan would have been allowed to do these (exceptional) carvings. The original rope hanging to this monumental chandelier was 'shot' and we replaced it with bronzed chain that perfectly complements the entire look and feel of this majestic pendant. Combined with the large, original and height adjustable alabaster canopy this rare light can be used and enjoyed in all kinds of interiors and in all kinds of living spaces. For it to still be in this very good condition after more than 100 years is like an ode to the craftsmanship of early 1900 artisans in Europe. We could shoot many more photos, but you still would not be able to see the true beauty of this chandelier in general and the one of a kind, supersize shade in particular. EXTRA LARGE FLP VINTAGE INDUSTRIAL PENDANT LIGHTS BY VICTOR Oversized industrial pendant lights reclaimed from a chemical mixing plant in Scotland. Made in England circa 1950 by Victor Products Ltd. The heavy duty cast aluminium bodies of the light fittings have been coated in our rusted patina and sealed to lock in the finish, The thick glass domed bottom section is haloed by a large green enamel diffuser shade giving a real unique look to these lights, the enamel diffusers would of been an optional extra to the lights for areas that required focused light. The orange / brown tones of the rusted patina really pops against the green enamel shades. Various cast marking can be seen around the light including the FLP ratings and "VICTOR" makers marks also original brass plates are intact displaying the original wattage / voltage and model number.
