About Pisces
Pisces is perhaps Andrea’s most personal collection to date. An avid surfer whose ideal morning involves riding the waves in Malibu, she channeled the ocean’s fluid rhythms, sunlit hues, and sculptural contours in designing each of the fixtures. But her inspiration dives even deeper and surfaces even more specifically. Alone on the sea with her board, Andrea observed the mesmerizing movement of glowing kelp blades through the deep blue water. She thought about how the presence of kelp is a sign of a healthy ocean. An idea began to take shape. Back in her studio in Los Angeles, she brought her vision to life, choosing smooth, floating brass and undulating aqua-colored fiberglass to echo the textures and colors she had admired, and she and her team carefully engineered the elements to flow seamlessly around each other, wave-like.
Even the fixture names, which honor iconic surfboard designers, hold special resonance for Andrea.
