Biedermeier Period Burlwood Table Cabinet Of Curiosities Wunderkammer 19th C.
Located in Forney, TX
A fine Biedermeier Period (1815-1848) walnut maple burlwood marquetry table cabinet - wunderkammer (cabinet of curiosities) with fifteen drawers and concealed secret compartments, circa 1820.
This architectural curiosity cabinet is a testament to the ingenuity and artistry of European craftsmen from the early 19th century. The highly figured quilted wood grain, warm rich burled walnut panels, and hand sculpted and molded ebonized wood exterior boasts a dark, lustrous sheen, while delicate hand carved details adorn its surface, showcasing the finesse and precision of its creator.
Probably Southern Germany, most likely Augsburg, having a rectangular raised top with visible hand cut dovetail joint case housing a single drawer, over exquisite stepped moulded ebony transition into large double door cabinet with the original hand forged iron hardware, opening to reveal an interior fitted with eleven drawers surrounding a single locking cupboard door, unlocking to reveal a stunning eight-pointed star marquetry inlaid spring loaded niche panel with hidden release, when triggered the niche slides out to reveal a trio of hidden storage compartments, including a deep bin and two small hidden drawers for the owners most precious valuables. Rising on shaped ebonized wood molding, over a distinctive masculine scalloped skirt, resting on ball feet.
Every inch of this remarkable antique cabinet reflects the warmth and depth of European craftsmanship during the early 19th century — a period celebrated for its quality, superior craftsmanship, comfort, and viewpoint furniture was meant to be publicly displayed. The intricate detailing, exotic and expensive materials, ingenuity and artistry transport you to a time of sophisticated elegance and refinement.
Place this exceptional cabinet in a distinguished office or collectors study, an opulent living room, as a monumental jewelry...

Enormous 25.2Ø Hand Carved Antique Alabaster Floral Pendant / Chandelier 1910s
Located in Lisse, NL
Top class chandelier with an extra large, hand carved alabaster shade.
Thanks to its extra large size and great condition this alabaster chandelier is one of the best alabaster chandeliers that we have ever seen or sold. This antique and entirely hand-carved alabaster chandelier will light up your days and evenings in a way that no modern fixture ever could. Anyone who has ever seen one in real life knows exactly what we are talking about. For this stunning, four light specimen they clearly used the perfect alabaster rock, because this unique shade comes with numerous and evenly divided black veins. That combined with the whiter veins and patches that have formed in this mineral stone over a period of thousands of years makes it truly special.
We have several interior designer clients who are looking for these largest of alabaster chandeliers and they know that finding one over 25 inches in diameter is like the proverbial needle in the haystack. This not only is one of the largest (in diameter) antique alabaster pendants that we have ever had the pleasure of offering, it also is one of the deepest/highest. However, what takes this rare size chandelier to a level of its own are the scrolling leaf and flower patterns that are deeply and sharply hand carved all around the body. This level of workmanship was rare, even in the early 1900s and since this light would have cost a small fortune in those days, you can rest assure that only the best artisan would have been allowed to do these (exceptional) carvings.
The original rope hanging to this monumental chandelier was 'shot' and we replaced it with bronzed chain that perfectly complements the entire look and feel of this majestic pendant. Combined with the large, original and height adjustable alabaster canopy this rare light can be used and enjoyed in all kinds of interiors and in all kinds of living spaces. For it to still be in this very good condition after more than 100 years is like an ode to the craftsmanship of early 1900 artisans in Europe. We could shoot many more photos, but you still would not be able to see the true beauty of this chandelier in general and the one of a kind, supersize shade in particular. In real life (or in person) our antiques always have that little bit extra and this unique and truly large alabaster chandelier...

Elegant French Iron Fire Screen, New, Handmade, 22" to 35" Wide, 22.4" Tall
Located in Soest, NL
Replica of an antique original. Produced exactly as it used to be made ??and they are thus difficult to distinguish from an old original.
Important advantage of this type of fire screen is that, while elegant, you don't really notice it, you just enjoy the fire. It is of a simple yet elegant simplicity. It is beautiful, rustic and classic. It quietly enhances the fireplace's charm. It is present without taking the attention away from the fire and the other fireplace accessories. The black color of this new handmade screen supports this effect.
The holes in the mesh are small enough to protect against the sparks, but large enough to limit the heat radiation of the fireplace as little as possible.
The fireplace screen fits in both a classic and a modern interior.
center panel: 50 cm (19.7") wide, Side panels: each 20 cm (7.9") wide.
The functional width is 6 cm (2.4") less for the firescreen to stand by itself, or a functional width of 57 cm (23") up to 89 cm (35"). At a width of 57 cm (23") the screen is 22 cm (8.7") deep and at 89 cm (35") wide it is 13 cm (5.1") deep.
Color: black (matt).
This fireplace screen is handmade and can therefore show imperfections (paint, finish, etc.) that do not occur in industrial production. We cannot provide any guarantees on these imperfections.
We can deliver this type of fireplace screen in different sizes. The number of panels can vary from 2 to 6. It is also available in several heights. It cannot be customized, but due to the possible variations it is suitable for most fireplaces. Contrary to popular belief, it is often not necessary for the fireplace screen to cover the entire height of the inside of the fireplace. A height of 50 cm (19.7") is usually sufficient for a fire screen if a quiet fire is lit with dry, suitable wood.
We have a unique and specialized collection of antique and used fireplace accessories...
