Hand-Carved Sculptural White Oak Dining Chair W/ Plant-Based Finish
Located in Brooklyn, NY
Piece and Quiet by Nathaniel Wojtalik is a series that draws upon the literary, musical, and cinematic idea of découpé, or cut-up. The technique of découpé stems from the notion that a text, musical score, or image could be cut up and rearranged to create a new body. Off-cuts and partially completed prototypes float around Wojtalik's studio; some more machined and worked than others, many just raw materials laying in their natural form. Wojtalik practices design by intuition: limited, but simultaneously expanded within the constraints of what is salvaged. Each piece is unique and hand made in the Brooklyn studio, so no two will look exactly alike, but all will look close to as pictured. All materials are locally sourced and finishes are derived from non-toxic plant based...

René Gabriel Patinated Oak Sideboard, France, 1940s
Located in Almelo, NL
René Gabriel Patinated Oak Sideboard, France, 1940s This mid-century sideboard, crafted from patinated French oak, was designed by René Gabriel in the 1940s in France. It was part of a collection of emergency furniture created for war victims, which is reflected in its simple and functional design. The sideboard features two storage units and five drawers, and it has developed a beautiful patina over time. In its patinated condition, this piece would make a striking addition to any room, whether a living room, family room, screening room, or office. It would also fit well in hospitality or corporate settings, such as a boutique hotel lobby, cocktail bar, members club, or luxury boutique. Incorporating mid-century design is a sustainable choice, as it repurposes furniture...

19th C Oak Stool with Leather Strap Top all handmade, Arts & Crafts period
Located in Lincoln, Lincolnshire
This is a good handmade stool with a well turned solid oak frame and a woven leather strap top, all dating to the Arts & Crafts period of the late 19th century. The stool is made of solid oak. The frame joints into four legs with ring turned detail and with four jointed rectangular cross stretchers between the legs, making this a very strong construction. The seat top is made of interwoven reddish-brown leather straps which sit on fabric webbing below the leather and give additional support to the seat. The seat is finished off with four narrow leather strips that run along the lower seat edge, one on each side, that are secured by brass nail studs. The stool has developed a good patina from age and use and the reddish-brown leather has a deep natural mature shine, only achieved by repeated polishing and use over the years. This piece is made in the 17th century Jacobean style but we date the stool to the late 19th century, made in the English Arts & Crafts period of the late 19th century. Please note the images are taken both indoors and outdoors in different light conditions. Notes on English leather topped seating Leather covers on English seating dates back to the middle ages and the 16th century. Mature leather seats can be as tough and polished as the wood of the frame itself. During the reign of Elizabeth 1st...

Weave 196 Credenza from Ringvide, Solid Birch wood, black oil. Scandinavian
Located in Visby, SE
Weave 196-Black oil Black sideboard, made of solid birchwood and laminated birchveneér. Modern yet classic, bold yet modest the cabinet serves as a great example of scandinavian contemporary design. Designed by Lukas Dahlén. The minimal yet expressive sideboard weave is made of solid birchwood and birchveneér. Inspired by the most common kind of wood and weed weaving the Weave sideboard represents an enlarged version of the technique of weaving something soft around a more stable structure. The top and bottom plane of the cabinet is held together by sticks kept together like a Windsor chair. Since first shown in Milan 2012, salone satellite, it has received a lot of attention worldwide.
