One of two fantastic and rare floor lamps 'Glasschaft' (engl. 'glass rod'), no. 2134 by J.T. Kalmar, Austria, Vienna, manufactured in midcentury, circa 1960. The base is made of polished brass and the stand is made of a twisted clear glass rod which was produced in Italy, very likely from Venini. Each light has four sockets for medium screw base bulbs type E26/E27. In detail there are three bulbs with max. 60W per bulb and one bulb upwards directed within an aluminium reflector with max. 200W for indirect lighting. These bulbs can be switched on separately with two pull switches. The light works well with LED or filament bulbs. The lamp shades have been renewed and are covered with a natural white textile. Other colors (yellow, blue, red, green, beige, grey, ...), sizes and forms of the lamp shades can be customized. The price is per lamp. They are sold individually or as pair. I’ve recently become attracted to roosters and chickens in general, and these regal characters are really great! This wall-hanging is depicted in the Tom Tru Spring wall scroll catalog for 1959. Attributed to Robert R. Bushong, although the signature on this one is missing the G. Since the signature is so close to the edge we believe the G just did not make it into the screen printing process. This example is what was advertised in the catalog as: powder, royal, sage, brown on black texture. Otherwise known as powder blue, royal blue, sage green, and brown. This is a very rare toy that I have not seen an example of before, and judging by it's action and appearance, I would venture to say it is post war, probably made in Japan for the American market (boy looks very American). I have called it "Smiling Boy Polishing Boots" which resembles the clockwork movement. To operate: hold the toy in the left hand with thumb on chest and then; wind up attached original key with the right hand several times; and release. With a smiling face, the boy will roll his head back and forth, while diligently shining his black boots, using an up and down motion with his right hand. The toy works quite well and will go on for some time. It is made up of several materials. The head, hands, and shoes are made of composition; it has a tin body; the clothes jersey, hat, and "falling" trousers" are made of fabric. The toy is in good original condition; some wear to boy's hat and jersey in back (see images), a slight "bend" to tinplate in the rear; but for the most part, the toy is very sturdy, works well, has a nice appearance, and wonderful charisma. This is a charming rare toy that operates as it should, and is a "must have" for collectors of post-war vintage wind up toys...

Beautiful vintage ethnic heavyweight cloth that could be used as a stunning home accessory whether thrown over a sofa or laid on the floor as a rug, perhaps even as a wall hanging admired as a piece of artistry. Dhaka is the traditional handmade fabric of the indigenous ‘Limbu’ people of Eastern Nepal, it’s origin goes back several hundred years to the Terhathum district. It is very unique and its distinctive geometric patterns make it stand out from other ethnic cloths. The Dhaka pattern is best known in the form of a topi, a cap worn by men in traditional dress and by bridegrooms at weddings and is a symbol of Nepalese heritage. Here the soft but strong natural fibres have been woven in several charming soft colors with the visible this threads displaying a captivating texture. Ever so slightly faded in patches which add to it’s history, character and charm. No damage or restoration. This would look fabulous in a Bohemian, rustic or even traditional interior. It could also be used as a very elaborate and luxurious beach accessory in the form of a towel or bathroom matt. We have two different throws as well as some wonderful Dhaka fabric cushions (pillows) backed in Irish linen that would match.
