The cabinet is raised by claw and ball feet below a mottled border. Each drawer displays two exquisite central tortoiseshell reserves framed within an etched bone foliate border and a mottled border with a fine pierced brass foliate keyhole escutcheon. Each drawer is separated by charming and detailed pierced brass rosettes. Leading up each side are intricately etched bone inlayed plaques with masks and foliate garlands. The central door displays a sensational bone inlay on rosewood, of a striking monument with grand columns and a superbly detailed horse and rider spearing a dragon. The door opens to reveal an additional drawer with two detailed charming scenes. The beautiful finished interior, with the original mirror plates in the background, is framed within impressive columns and a unique and most decorative bone and ebonized fruit wood checkered floor...

Having a slant-front bureau with tall raised back decorated with three Renaissance Revival style high relief panels, the center depicting religious scene comprising Jesus and winged Saint, the side panels with foliate floral fruit pendant carvings, flanked by classical turned baluster-form columns, surmounted with highly stylized hand carved and turned finials. Over a slant-front with star parquetry, the hinged drop-front opens to reveal a distressed leather writing desk / lectern / pulpit on which the holy books can be laid open and allows to shelter the books, which were considered precious goods at that time. The lower sacristy cabinet has a pair of slide-out supports flanking a paneled cupboard door decorated with a large stepped base Christian cross parquetry inlay, affixed with later decorative forged iron faux escutcheon overtop. An Italian neoclassical wooden side chest from the 19th century. This antique smaller sized cabinet from Italy has a raised lip along the top back and sides, is fitted with a small drawer at top with simple knob pull, a pull up door in the mid section (which opens to reveal storage within and slides in/away so that you could keep it as an open shelf), and a larger drawer at bottom with a ring pull at center.
