Guillerme et Chambron, credenza with lantern, solid oak and stone, France, 1960s.
This sideboard holds the characteristics of the French designer duo Guillerme & Chambron. The base has typical legs and provides a floating appearance to the storage part. Two sliding doors are nicely ridged with vertical lines. On the right side is a small, hidden storage as well. What makes this piece very special is the lattern on the right side, which is rarely seen in the works of Guillerme and Chambron. The lantern is finished with a oak shade, in line with the rest of this piece. It possible to remove the lantern.
The top is inlayed with a large ceramic tile, which is probably included some years after the piece has been made. It's possible to replace this part with any other material you prefer, such as leather or Guillerme et Chambron tiles...
