Artisans et paysans de Lozère Crendenza France 1970s in chestnut
Located in Berlin, DE
The adventure of the Artisans and Farmers of Lozère began in 1957/58 and aimed to provide additional income to local artisans and farmers during their slow periods. Farmers skilled in wood or iron built their own furniture, a common practice in rural areas. The initiative also promoted Lozère's crafts. Janine Braget, the co-founder, and Jean Touret, a prominent designer, traveled through Lozère for three years. Touret, who often stayed for extended periods, acted as a consultant and artistic advisor. Around 1960, he brought in Marc Navecth, a Mendois from Paris, who designed and monitored Lozère furniture for eight years. Many artists and craftsmen, including sculptors, ironworkers, cabinetmakers, and even architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, collaborated with the cooperative. They created unique furniture, lighting, and artworks, sold in stores in Mende and Paris (now La Maison de la Lozère). They even equipped Perriand buildings from Les Arcs and parts of Savoie during the 1970s white gold...

Late 19th Century Credenza Piedmontese Display Cabinet , Solid Wood wax Polished
Located in Vigonza, Padua
Late 19th century credenza Piedmontese with display cabinet in solid wood polished to wax Upper part with two doors with glasses printed in pyramids in relief; two internal shelves and turned columns. Lower part with two drawers, two doors, two internal shelves. Pyramidal front feet. History and curiosity of this credenza This piece of furniture with an exceptional ancient Patina, is the summoning evocator of romantic atmospheres of a bygone past. Decorate your kitchen with a piece of history and culture. Importance and origin of Piedmontese style furniture The Enlightenment brings with it important cultural innovations and among these also a reinterpretation of the furniture as known until then and brings the furniture to be more elegant, but also more functional. It is France with its royal court and with the emergence of a new bourgeoisie that becomes the first nation to implement these innovations, then influencing the main European courts. This is how the creation of new styles of chest of drawers, trumeau, console, corner furniture, mirrors and desks makes the furniture as a whole lighter and more elegant. In Italy there are production centers and workshops with expert craftsmen who fully interpret its style and elegance; one of the best Turin interpreters is Pietro Piffetti...

Cabinet 19th Century, Napoleon III Period, Style Boulle
Located in Warsaw, PL
This wooden cabinet is designed in the Boulle style. This style was very popular around the time of Napoleon III. The characteristic of this style is the use of small pieces of wood in furniture, inlaid designs with many different materials: precious wood, precious stones, enamel, ivory, seashells, metal, marble etc. In addition, to express the royal style, the "Boulle" style also uses a large amount of gilded copper on the furniture, such as tiger claw decoration, mirror border decoration, leaf decoration, etc. The main elementsof this cabinet is ebony and turtle shell, with decorative details and gilded legs. This is a pretty prominent highlight in the overall black and gold color scheme. Moreover, the head of a woman is in the middle of the cabinet with waves in her hair and grape vines could be representing the Greek goddes of spring Spring. Surrounding the head are beautiful acanthus motifs incorporated in every layer and surface of the cabinet. Symmetricallly on the left and right side of the head are two identical faces, with one being the lock of the cabinet where key goes. The four corners of the cabinet have blooming carnations to create a feeling of spring coming. The details are collaged, decorated with golden bronze leaves in a classic French style. On the edges of the cabinet are sculptures of two women wrapped around with cloth and leaves. Through it, the author highlights the beauty of the woman's status in the past. On the side panels of the cabinet is placed a gilded face of a man with wings...
