Impressive Art Deco console table or radiator grill cover in hammered patinated wrought iron featuring a three funnel steam ship in central lozenge amidst stylized patterns suggestive of water, nautilus, even lighting. Evocative of certain designs by Edgar Brandt. The curved edge top and base are burl wood veneer. Some of the varnish has started to catalyze so prior to delivering the burl will be cleaned and revarnished, unless the buyer prefers some other finish. The top, base and grille are detachable for ease of transport. Provenance: From a Fifth Ave, New York, NY estate. I continue to try to learn more about its earliest origins.
