Table 2 la che by Sebastian Herkner
Materials: 100% Fique fibers from Furcraea leaves from Furcraea leaves.
Technique: Hand-woven in Colombia.
Dimensions: Diameter 37 cm x W 22 x H 46 cm
Available in colors: black, verde, bronce, cuerda. And other sizes.
The La Che Side Table honors the beautiful traditional weaving craft of Colombia. Sebastian Herkner designed the collection after visiting Colombia and studying the weaving techniques of the local artisans. The name La Che is a reference to the Laches, an indigenous Colombian people, who used a method with the same name to create baskets. The tables are available in three sizes.
The tables are made in small workshops in the Boyacá region, which is situated 2,400 meters above sea level in the Colombian Andes. This area has a long tradition of working with fibers made from the leaves of the fique plant. These fibers are wound by hand and a robust part of the fique plant is used as a frame. The dyes used have mostly natural ingredients, such as nuts, roots, and bark from trees, all native to the region. The production process is very labor-intense and requires a great deal of skill: It takes several weeks to produce one La Che table...

A Chinese Qing Dynasty period side table with single drawer from the 19th century, with horse hoof legs, cinnabar underglaze and distressed patina. Breakfast Patio Table by Gisbert Pöppler
Located in Geneve, CH
Breakfast patio table by Gisbert Pöppler
Dimensions: D 80 x W 80 x H 72 cm
Materials: Glazed lavastone
The simplicity of forms and cheerful glazed colors of this side table make it suitable for almost any space, outdoor or inside. This petit furniture is a bit more robust than it appears, being cut and shaped out of lava stone from the foot of Sicily’s famous volcano, Mt. Etna.
The three pieces have been glazed in a kiln at 950 degrees, using an ancient technique developed in this region called Majolica, that protects them with a robust surface suitable for outdoor use and provides the translucent colors with a slight craquelé for the finish.
All of their upholstery pieces are COM prices.
The prices do not include any fabric.
Gisbert Pöppler studied architecture at California College of Arts and Crafts, San Francisco and Technische Universität, Berlin, graduating in 1996 with a Diplom Ingenieur. After completing his studies he spent several years working for various firms in Berlin, developing new architecture after the German re-unification.
In 1999 Gisbert Pöppler founded Prinz–Pöppler, a partnership with architect Ilona Prinz – together creating office environments for start-up organizations filling the dynamic Berlin landscape...
