About the Item

A beautiful antique Continental pressed glass jewelry casket, crafted in richly molded blush pink glass and mounted in a warm patinated brass frame. Dating to the turn of the 20th century, this elegant box features an all-over geometric pattern of raised diamonds and eight point stars that beautifully refract light, creating exceptional depth and sparkle. The gracefully domed lid is fitted with a finely made brass mount and decorative clasp, opening to reveal a fully molded glass interior that continues the intricate pattern throughout. The combination of the shimmering pink pressed glass and aged brass creates a timeless aesthetic that complements both traditional and contemporary interiors. Originally intended for storing jewelry, treasured keepsakes or vanity accessories, this charming casket also makes an elegant decorative accent on a dressing table, desk, coffee table or bookshelf. Produced in Continental Europe, Bohemia (present-day Czech Republic), this finely executed example reflects the high-quality pressed glass craftsmanship of the late Victorian and early Art Nouveau periods.
