Antique Victorian diamond floral spray brooch in silver and yellow gold, probably Portuguese, circa 1890. A dramatic jewel from the second half of the 19th century, modelled as a floral and foliate spray composed by flowerheads and naturalistic leaves, grain-set and step-down-collet-set throughout with Old Mine-cut, Old European brilliant-cut and rose-cut diamonds, all stones in open-back silver-on-gold settings. This jewel is secured to reverse with a later-added hinged post and roller clasp fitting in yellow gold.
Diamonds: estimated 5.04 carats in total, G-I color (assessed), SI clarity (assessed). Main diamonds estimated 1.05ct (approximately 6.20x5.88x3.70mm), 1.15ct (approximately 6.54x6.52x3.47mm), 0.92ct (approximately 5.81x5.65x3.60mm) and 0.42ct (approximately 4.98x5.00x2.64mm). Dimensions: 9.1 x 3.9 cm. Gross Weight: 21.25.
