This vintage china service from the 1950s was made especially for Pan Am World Airways in Japan by Noritake. It was used on the iconic airline's trans-Atlantic flights in the 1950's, for First-Class passengers traveling from New York to London and Paris. Each piece is an off-white bone china, rimmed in 18-carat gold. This collection is archetypal MCM in its design, and still projects an aura of what the Golden Age of jet travel was like. Each piece is in mint condition! A rare and treasured find, indeed, with an ample number of pieces for a dinner service of eight. This early 20th-century round silver butter dish supported by three 'clawed' cabriole legs ornamented with lionheads is in beautiful condition. The silver has a soft lustrous patina and polishes easily. Its weighted retractable lid is in perfect working order.
