"Moving the Wild Ones", Robert Hagan, 60x216, Oil/Canvas, Western, Impressionism
Located in Dallas, TX
"Moving the Wild Ones" by Robert Hagan is an original oil on canvas and measures 60x216.
In this large original painting by Robert Hagan, cowboys on horseback run through the canyon mountains kicking up dust and trying to reign in runaway mustangs and they travel through the blue water and canyons. A man of many talents his impressionistic style using a limited palette of oil brings a sense of tranquility that makes his paintings come alive. Robert Hagan is an Australian painter...

Norma Shoulders, Henrietta, OK by John Stryker, Vintage Silver Gelatin Print
By John Stryker
Located in Dallas, TX
Norma Shoulders, Henrietta, OK by John Stryker is a 10 x 8 inch vintage silver gelatin print. This photograph is signed in ink on print recto, and titled in pencil on print verso.
John Stryker was born in Rockford, Illinois, September 1, 1883. He is most remembered for his body of photographs he took of the "Olympic of Western sport"*- the Rodeo. During his lifetime he crossed America, working rodeos as an announcer, a producer, promoter and sometimes a rider. He invented the chute that the animals come out of and he developed new ways of photographing action during an event.
Dramatic shots were taken from the ground, propping his camera on the toe of his right boot right next to a bucking bronco.
Some historians believe that John Stryker was directly responsible for the growth and sophistication of the sport.
His negatives are in the collection of the University of Texas at Permian Basin, Odessa. His photographs have been exhibited during his lifetime at the Buffalo Bill Museum in Cody, Wyoming, and the Amon Carter Museum in Ft. Worth, Texas. His photographs have been published widely including Life, Look, The Cattleman, The Western Horseman, and The Quarter Horse Journal. In 1977, The Rodeo of John Addison Stryker...

King
Located in Dallas, TX
In the digital age we take photos. Sometimes I am inspired by interesting or beautiful content I see in day - to - day life. I had the idea to incorporate some of these photos into modified prints and incorporated paint. “ Party’s Over ” is the first piece in this process. This cartoon king head was lying in a parking lot in 2021. Beheaded from a Mardi Gras King Cake, I found it perfect timing to take the pic since we had just had a change in the White H ouse and January 6th was still fresh on everyone’s minds.

The Garden Snake
Located in Dallas, TX
I decided to try a raw and unprimed canvas to enhance more of a natural element in a painting. The palette I chose was very neutral and earthy, but I brought in the pink for a little pop. Most of my paintings are not this simple, but I liked the clean lines and movement I had created on the canvas. I figured this is one that could go in most homes – contemporary or traditional. I see a face, a snake, and some flora. Classic.

Pink Dream
Located in Dallas, TX
Often, I do not know why I paint what end up on the canvas. It’s like a dream, you wake up trying to figure out the meaning, and if I was to research the meaning of “Pink Dream” the apple represents love, beauty, and wisdom while the knife represents injustice and fear. A flame in a dream can represent fear of exposure of vulnerability. Outlines of faces could represent a reflection of someone I know or a part of myself that I have yet to discover.

Study Of A Monarch
Located in Dallas, TX
This was my second painting to incorporate unprimed canvas as the backdrop for a work. Each panel represents a wing. The bones of the painting are an abstract representation of what you would find on any Monarch butterfly. The rest is the emotional release of creativity to fill the canvas with color, movement, and lines to stimulate the imagination to bring the painting to life. The back story: This painting was imagined on the ask and a favor to an artist friend & artist Chris Judy...

This work incorporates an acrylic pen in the second layer. I grew up with a fascination for Pop Art and I think the bright colors in this piece are throwback to the 80’s. She Thinks Too Much
Located in Dallas, TX
The inspiration for the palette of “ She Thinks Too Much” was inspired by “Jazz”, my favorite painting of my first exhibition at Patrick Jones Gallery . “She Thinks Too Much” radiates a sense of energy & anxiety with so much color and movement with the fast long brush strokes (hence the title) . The work leads the viewer left to their own interpretation to what I was thinking as I painted . Is it a colorful map or perhaps some sort of alien blueprint? Busy but with depth.

Lindy Chambers says:
"When I start to paint, the color is intuitive, and the process is spontaneous. I try to listen to the canvas and react to it. I follow the river of the subconscious - it is all about exploration and revelations along the way. My attention is drawn to the relationship of forms - and to unrecognizable shapes that are thought provoking and unworldly."
