Art Nouveau Flemish Earthenware Three Handled Vase by Leo Maes Vereenooghe
Located in Topeka, KS
Handsome Art Nouveau Flemish earthenware three handled vase with applied L.M.V mark and decorated with figures in landscape. It is in good vintage condition. One handle has been restored and there are several glaze flakes and small chips; however, it still presents very nicely. It is priced accordingly. Please see photos, circa 1890s-1910s. I fell in love with this pot immediately so snatched it up quickly. Then fell in love further after learning about its rich Flemish history. This three-handled Art Nouveau jug style vase is decorated with interesting figures and landscapes in the most beautiful blue, yellow, green, and brown polychrome glaze. It is signed by the artist, Leo Maes...

Authentic Talavera Decorative Plate Folk Art Vessel Mexican Ceramic Blue White
By Cesar
Located in Queretaro, Queretaro
Elegant white and blue plate made with the Talavera technique. Artist, Cesar Torres portraits the colonial art of Mexico. The Talavera is not just a simple painted ceramic: its exquisite decoration is the product of a delicate process of alchemy that translates into fine enamels. In Puebla, Mexico few people still produce using Talavera with the ancestral techniques. One of those few is Cesar Torres, Don Cesar learned his art in the workshop of the Uriarte family, an excellent workshop where his grandfather worked. In his creations he uses the black and white mud that is obtained from the nearby hills of Loreto and Guadalupe, and colors of mineral origin that he creates in his workshop with recipes from his grandfather. All the pieces are modeled in a traditional way and go through a production process that usually takes from one to two months, between drying, burning, and painting. Being surrounded by a living tradition, Cesar Torres Jr., learned from his father since childhood. Architect by profession, Cesar Jr. has come to revolutionize and modernize with new designs and ideas of the current world, nevertheless always respecting the tradition of the processes and materials that make Talavera a Creole art...

Collection 6 Vintage Vases Abingdon RumRill Van Briggle Gonder 2 Gladding McBean
By Van Briggle
Located in Topeka, KS
Handsome collection of six vintage 20th century vases. One each of Abingdon, RumRill, Gonder, and Van Briggle, and two of Gladding McBean. They are all in wonderful vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or chiggers that we have seen. Please see photos. We are selling these as a set of six, circa mid-20th century. Even though, and maybe because, each one of these vases is outstanding by itself…we have put them together in a collection just for you. And are they ever spectacular. There are three tall and narrow vases. The first one is a gorgeous matte dusty pink fluted fan vase by Abingdon. The second is by Gonder with a rather lily of the valley design and a fabulous gloss gray glaze on its exterior and a beautiful pink interior. The third is a double handled turquoise by Gladding McBean. The next three are short bulbous vases more like rose bowls. The first of these is a turquoise Van Briggle reticulated philodendron leaf bowl. The second is a creamy white ribbed bowl by RumRill. And the last is urn shape by Gladding McBean with a turquoise exterior and a creamy white interior. Each is signed and a wonderful treasure. We love the way they look in a group, but you may want to scatter them about for individual touches of delight. Just make them yours! Measures: • Pink Abingdon Vase...

Collection of Four Vintage Pottery Pieces Aubergine Yellow Plum Green Swirl
By Hull Pottery, Frankoma Pottery
Located in Topeka, KS
Handsome collection of four vintage pottery pieces including an aubergine bowl, Hull yellow vase, plum or eggplant Frankoma ewer, and a swirl green with purple pot. They are all in wonderful vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or chiggers. The swirl pot does have drip marks that I’m not sure are from age or the original dipping process which created the swirl, but it does not detract from the beauty of the piece. Please see photos. We have priced these as a set of four, circa 20th century. Because they look so beautiful together, we are selling these four amazing 20th century American pottery pieces as a set. Maybe it’s a start of a collection for you or maybe you just love them for their looks! The first piece is a gorgeous aubergine bowl which is unsigned but through research we attribute it to Dryden due to its wonderful matte glaze. The second piece is marked. It is a Hull early 1920s vase with a very unusual golden yellow and green with touches of plum or aubergine gloss glaze. It is absolutely stunning! The third piece is also signed. It is an ewer by Frankoma the famous Oklahoma pottery. Glazed in either their plum or eggplant color which is so deep it is almost black in some of the photos. The fourth and last piece is a bit of a puzzle and it is unmarked. Its fabulous swirl green, yellow, with touches of aubergine remind us of both Nemadji pottery...

Pair of Petite Rookwood Pottery Arts & Crafts Vases 1 Sea Green and 1 Turquoise
By Rookwood Pottery Co.
Located in Topeka, KS
Handsome pair of petite Rookwood Pottery Arts & Craft vases. One is sea green and one is turquoise. They are both in excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks, chiggers, or crazing that we have detected and very little wear to their bottoms. Please see photos. Circa 1920s. Wow! These are exceptional examples of Rookwood Arts & Craft Pottery. These two beautiful vases have been together for a long time, so we are selling them as a pair. One is in a sea green gloss glaze and date marked 1928 with form number 2963. This one is a long neck bottle shaped vase that is void of decoration letting its Classic Silhouette be the star. The second one has a turquoise matte glaze and is date marked 1922 with form number 2283. It has a bulbous urn shape with a band of incised geometric design around the lower third of its body. Both are in fabulous condition and will be lovely on a shelf or in a table-scape. Rookwood Pottery was founded in 1880 by Maria Longworth Nichols and has the unique distinction of being the first manufacturing company in the United States founded by a female. It is also known for having many women artists on staff over its long lifespan. The name Rookwood was Maria’s brainchild after noticing the rooks, or crows, populating her father’s estate and combining that with “wood” for a nod to the fame Wedgwood wares. Maria ran the company for three years. Then in 1883, after she attained much success in earning medals for the company’s work, she turned over the management of and transferred her interest in the company to William W. Taylor. Under Taylors command the business went from a young award-winning pottery company to a thriving entity. It was a very successful operation over the following decades. But in 1941, after the Great Depression took its toll, Taylor closed-up shop. Until a brief few years later a group of investors bought the company and began production once again. The new Rookwood changed hands many times and even moved to a different state but could still never be the pottery it once was. They subsequently closed their doors for good in 1967. Whether you are a collector of Arts & Crafts pottery or Rookwood in particular…or you just love beautiful things….you need to make this pair yours. Vase #1: Sea green bottle Height 7.75 inches Diameter 4 inches Weight .9 pounds Vase #2: Turquoise Urn...
