Arbus King Sleigh Bed w/Leather Upholstered Headboard 6000 Series by Henredon

By Henredon

Located in Topeka, KS

Awesome vintage Neoclassic Revival Arbus King sized sleigh bed with chocolate channeled leather upholstered headboard 6000 Series by Henredon. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Specifically, there is a stubborn crease in the leather of one of the channeled panels. Something must have leaned against it for a length of time. All of the usual methods have not worked yet but we are still working on getting the crease out. Please see photos, zoom in for details, and see long description as they are part of the condition report. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, Late 20th Century. NOTE: If you love this Henredon Arbus 6000 Series King Size Sleigh Bed we have other matching pieces listed for sale separately here if they are still available. This Henredon Arbus king sized bed absolutely…. SLAYS!!! Quite literally!!! LOL… This is a GORGEOUS king sized sleigh bed by Henredon Arbus 6000 Series composed of a beautiful book matched burl wood low-profile frame featuring a curved headboard handsomely upholstered in a fantastic channeled chocolate leather. And the attractive-ness doesn’t end with the front of the bed!! This is an all-over beauty!!! The footboard, side rails, & back of the headboard are exquisitely finished bearing a stunning wood grain so, it will float fabulously in any space or conveniently divide your sleeping area from your sitting room… a fantastic option for studio apartments or open concept rooms. Just drop in your own king-sized mattress and you are ready to comfortably snooze in SUPREME style!!! So, you may notice in the photographs that it has a stubborn crease in one of the leather panels. Something leaned against it for a while and it isn’t responding to our usual methods so, we photographed it for listing purposes but we are still working on getting that crease out! It stands BOLD & BEAUTIFULLY upon four slightly splayed feet and exudes an incredible Neoclassic Revival presence sure to make a transformative statement to your bedroom or floating in whatever room it occupies!!!! Your night of slumber just became next-level SPECTACULAR!!!! Henredon Furniture Company was founded in 1945 in Morganton, North Carolina by four Drexel Heritage executives; T. Henry Wilson, Ralph Edwards, Donnell VanOppen, and Sterling Collet. The name Henredon is a combination of their names. These four men were determined to build furniture of custom exceptional quality, and their original offering was only three chests. Through the years they engaged with well-known designers to create their unique and fine furniture with iconic names such as Frank Lloyd Wright, Ralph Lauren, Dorothy Draper, and Laura Ashley. The company changed ownership several times throughout the years, eventually becoming Heritage Home Group (HHG) in 1986. Then, the original manufacturing operations in North Carolina effectively ceased the brand name around 2013. Following that, HHG, the last parent company under the original model filed bankruptcy in 2018 and the brand name was purchased by Authentic Brands Group (ABG.) While no longer in production, Henredon furnishings are highly sought after superior vintage pieces today. There’s nothing quite as luxurious as an attractive bedroom! And, this phenomenal channeled chocolate leather upholstered Henredon king...

Mid 20th Century Guardian Service Aluminum Dual Purpose Cookware 14 Pieces
Mid 20th Century Guardian Service Aluminum Dual Purpose Cookware 14 Pieces

Mid 20th Century Guardian Service Aluminum Dual Purpose Cookware 14 Pieces

Located in Topeka, KS

Incredible Mid-20th Century Guardian Service dual purpose 14-piece cookware set including 7 pots, 2 trays, and 5 interchangeable lids. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. The set is in great overall condition with a nice patina. The roaster, one triangle pot, and octagonal tray seem to have had more use than the rest, but all look fabulous. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa,1930s-1950’s. What have we here? THIS is a set of “Kitchen Jewels!” and “A Kitchen Symphony!” as the 1940’s Guardian Service Ware Catalog states!! A piece for every purpose and a purpose for every piece!! WOW!!! This is an INCREDIBLE set of 14 FABULOUS pieces designed by Master craftsmen including 9 cookware pieces and 5 lids (4 aluminum & 1 glass) all comprised of the finest quality aluminum bearing Guardian Service’s signature stamp of a knight between two axes etched into the glass. These pieces were originally sold by door-to-door salesmen through in-home demonstrations and today, their vintage fabulous-ness is sought after by collectors and people that want the dual purpose of both functional and attractive cookware. Some pieces have a very nice feature with interchanging lids and others serve a dual purpose. We have an oval vegetable dish that stands about 1 ½ inch tall and a large roasting pan that have both an interchanging lid AND the vegetable dish can sit inside the roasting pan like a steamer! We have 2 triangle pots (kind of heart shaped) but the catalog calls them triangle pots, with 1 interchangeable glass lid that bears the signature knight stamp. Four round cooking pots, 1 small with an aluminum lid; 1 medium round pot with lid and 2 round pots with the same diameter; although 1 is a bit taller, with an interchanging aluminum lid, AND the shorter round pot will fit inside the larger round pot like a double boiler! We also have a fabulous octagon shaped serving tray with handles which will double as a griddle, and we are pretty sure the prior owner enjoyed a pancake or two as the bottom of this piece has some black cooking marks. The large roaster also has some of these marks, but that certainly does not detract from the functionality of either piece and all the others are as clean as a whistle! This entire set is SO versatile and convenient and can be used from oven to table! Whether you are a collector or intend to use it on a daily basis, this set is definitely what the kitchen chef...

Campaign Style Thomasville Furn Mystique 3 Section Modular Queen Bed & Armoires

Campaign Style Thomasville Furn Mystique 3 Section Modular Queen Bed & Armoires

By Thomasville

Located in Topeka, KS

Wonderful campaign style modular wall unit bedroom or bed set up with side armoires comprised of dark wood, removeable mirrors, lights, full/queen headboard, and brass hardware by Thomasville Furniture. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. The top of the headboard has been refinished but the rest of the pieces have their original finish. No outstanding flaws that we have detected. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, 1970’s. Can a girl (or guy) ever have Too many options??? We think Not!!! Seriously!! Take another look at this Extremely cool, Extremely modular “Mystique” wall unit or bedroom set up by Tomlinson Furniture. So many options…We say that because the center, larger unit can be used as a headboard for a full or queen-sized bed. You just need a Hollywood frame, and it backs right up against the headboard which has drop front storage for extra pillows or blankets! The four mirrors are removeable so if you prefer you could take them off and expose a blank wall or hang your favorite piece of artwork. Plus, there are lights at the top of the crown unit and a shelf to hold a lamp, books, or décor! Now, it’s nice to have the two side cabinets in your bedroom if you need the space for storage…there is hanging space in the top wardrobe area and three nice sized drawer’s underneath…AND there are knobs immediately beneath the wardrobe section that pull out into a nightstand surface with a black laminate top!! SO NICE!! BUT…maybe it’s a little much for the space you have, and you want to break it up a bit. NO PROBLEM! The two side pier cabinets are modular and can stand individually in separate rooms or could set side by side in one room. Maybe you want to use the two pier cabinets in a second bedroom and put a beautiful brass bed between them and use the center unit in a different bedroom. The whole unit is comprised of a gorgeous sultry dark wood and the cabinets have beautiful brass escutcheons, teardrop pulls, and hardware. There are truly so many interchangeable possibilities with this wonderful campaign style wall unit and it is made with impeccable quality by an iconic manufacturer. You just can’t go wrong! The original Thomasville furniture company was founded in 1904. At the time, it was called the Thomasville chair company since the company focused on producing chairs exclusively. Over the next few decades, the catalog expanded to include additional furniture pieces. During this time, the original company went through several owners; despite this, the company still experienced financial success even through economic hardship of the 1930s. Vintage pieces from the Thomasville Furniture company run the gamut from chairs to dining room furniture and many different types of furniture in between. The earliest pieces from the company when it was still known as the Thomasville Chair Company are considered the most rare and valuable. If you are looking for authentic Thomasville vintage pieces, you will need to find them on the secondhand market. Thomasville Furniture is one of the most recognized furniture companies in America. You can count on Thomasville furniture for incredible dining room and bedroom furniture. – vintage furniture guide...

He attended and obtained his degree in design from Kendall College of Art and Design in his native home of Grand Rapids, Michigan. After graduating in 1946 Sobota apprenticed with his namesake and uncle, a furniture designer as well, Karl Schmidt, who designed for Berkey and Gay Furniture Company. He apprenticed for seven years leading to his designing for Grand Rapids Bookcase and Chair Co., the Mt. Airy Furniture Co., Hekman Furniture and finally Century Furniture for whom he designed from 1952 until 1995. He designed all the company’s wood furniture during that time in total, over 150 collections. The most notable being Citation, Chin Hua, Claridge, and the Henry Ford Museum and the British National Trust collections. Sobota is credited for helping make Century Furniture the industry leader it is today. Century Furniture Company, one of the world’s largest privately owned upper-end residential furniture manufacturers, was founded in 1947 by Harley Ferguson Shuford, Sr. When first formed Century Furniture was a selling agent for local upholstery lines. But as soon as a year later Shuford had built a case goods plant in Hickory, North Carolina and that started it all. Harley Shuford along with his siblings and children acquired company after company expanding into upholstered furniture, chair manufacturing, and even a leather division. Century has made it through feast and famine in the furniture business and today retains their long-standing role as a leading force in the American home furnishings market. This piece has been attributed based upon archived research including online sources, vintage documentation and catalogs, designer literature, and other materials. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. The seats have been newly upholstered in a plain blue/black duck fabric. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, mid-20th century. What a TERRIFIC TWOSOME!!! This is a gorgeous pair of vintage Valkerie II Line dining or side chairs designed by Edmond J. Spence for Keller Furniture. They are comprised of lovely oak frames with slightly angled backs featuring sculpted “boomerang” shaped backs with spindles, straight round tapered front legs with stretchers and chrome sabots on the feet. Their seats have been freshly upholstered in a plain blue/black duck fabric. (We are calling it blue / black as some see it as black and some see it as a deep navy blue.) Did you notice that the handsome chair back and flared back legs are all one piece? Just an awesome design… and super comfortable!! They are mid-century modern with a Danish or Scandinavian modern flair, and they are going to be magnificent seating in your dining or kitchen area, side chairs in your bedroom, or extra seating in your family room. Sometimes you just need a simple little pair of chairs. You know? Just good looking, sturdy, and serviceable chairs. This is just that pair! Edmond J. Spence was an American designer who made a name for himself interpreting Danish Modernism in his own way and blending it with the atomic and organic influences of the mid to late 1950's. Mr. Spence grew up in a family business that manufactured high quality traditional furniture, including ornate, custom carved pieces. He was trained as a designer, and created industrial products, household items including clocks and radios. He began to focus on furniture, and he sensed the trend toward modern design. During the 1950s, Spence drew on Asian and Swedish influences in developing ideas for his own style of modern furniture. He incorporated aspects of Mexican design to create the Continental-American collection tagged “Ageless Furniture-Edmond J. Spence Design.” Manufactured in 1953 by Industria Mueblera. His work has been described as “a little bit Deco, a little tiki, with a heavy atomic & Danish influence.” He won awards and in the early 50’s his work was displayed at the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art in New York. And a fun fact, his furniture was used on the set of the “I Love Lucy” show for many years. -Mid 2 Mod. Mr. Spence passed away in 1986. Keller Manufacturing Company was founded in 1885 but Keller Furniture history dates back to 1866 when the “Keller Store” in Corydon Indiana was established. From that time, the operation entered into various businesses, including wagon productions from 1901-1912, running an electrical light plant, manufacturing spokes for farm wagons...
