My paintings are of animals, plants, and landscapes seen through a moment of shifting focus. I paint the way I explore the rugged mountains by my house, always pushing to see what is over the next hill, searching for the unexpected. I begin my paintings without a plan. No preliminary sketches are made; every thought is worked out directly on the canvas. Artifacts of the creative process can be seen in the rich textures, worked surfaces, and veiled light qualities created by working and reworking the piece. In 1993, a window of opportunity opened as a result of several different situations that were occurring. I was participating in an Artist-in-Residence program in Yellowstone National Park. At the same time, I had recently been asked to show my artwork in nearby Livingston, Montana. All of these events resulted in a major lifestyle change. My love of the outdoors and of fly-fishing drew me to make the transition. So here I am. I live in a small town nestled in the Rocky Mountains where life is the opposite of what it was in Los Angeles. - Joe Fay

This mixed media painting revolves around flying saucers, pigeons, boats, horses, figures and other abstract forms. There is every kind of color on this piece, but non of these colors are very saturated. The composition has an overall "collage" feel. Please contact for more images. Casey McGlynn grew up in rural Ontario, where he would sit in front of the television and draw on old grocery bags and scrap paper tirelessly, creating self-taught surrealist pop art. McGlynn attended the Ontario College of Art and Design, however, he was not enrolled in the visual arts. McGlynn’s work contains reoccurring symbols such as animals from his upbringing, birds from his studio window sill and numbers that derive from when he memorized math tables in his early years. McGlynn’s work is as much about revealing the truth and expressing emotions as it is about documenting actual fact. His paintings reach into a wealth of historical influence and skill.
