PURITAN vs GENESTA, America's Cup 1885
By Edward Moran
Located in Costa Mesa, CA
This impressive painting by Edward Moran does justice to the epic America’s Cup Challenge of 1885. Moran’s point of view captures the day’s enormity to the world’s yacht racers and designers. This account portrays PURITAN’s second and decisive victory of the match on the 40-mile course, 20 miles leeward from the Sandy Hook Lightship and back. PURITAN reached the line a scant 1 minute 38 seconds in front, the closest margin of victory to date. Well publicized and awaited on both sides of the Atlantic, the race held the public’s interest while knowledgeable yachtsmen waited to see if Boston’s Edward Burgess had innovated the centerboard sloop design to a degree capable of holding off the challenge of a true English cutter. GENESTA was designed by John Beavor-Webb, for her owner, Sir Richard Sutton...

"Deep World" Contemporary abstract painting with texture, greens, blues
By Nancy Eckels
Located in Laguna Beach, CA
Exhibiting the bold colors and textures that her work is known for, "Deep World"is a beautiful abstract painting by Nancy Eckels. Using sculptural texture with beautiful sea greens and blues, contrasted with flowing textures and purple and white highlights, this painting creates both a peaceful and dynamic mood. Nancy became a full time artist only after ending another creative career.  She moved to California to attend college, and happily worked in television for many years. She was a director on the CBS daytime drama, "The Bold and the Beautiful" when she decided to move on to full time painting. Given her family background, it seemed like the most natural transition she could make.  Nancy was born in Kingston, New York, but moved to Utah at age 7 when her father was transferred for his work. With her family, she spent her summers exploring many of the national parks, and natural wonders of the west where her father loved to fish and photograph. He instilled in her a love and appreciation for the beauty and colors of nature, while her mother taught her many of the lessons of art. Nancy gained quite an art education through "osmosis" while being around talented family members. She has learned much from working with several experimental abstract painters, including Katherine Chang Liu, Carole Barnes...

"Sudden Gust" Mixed Media abstract with textural rich blues, teal, aqua
By Nancy Eckels
Located in Laguna Beach, CA
"Sudden Gust" is a beautiful luminous large abstract painting by Nancy Eckels. It exhibits the bold colors and textures that her work is known for. Using sculptural texture with beautiful ocean blues, contrasted with flowing textures of teal, aqua and white highlights, this painting creates both a peaceful and dynamic mood. Nancy became a full time artist only after ending another creative career.  She moved to California to attend college, and happily worked in television for many years. She was a director on the CBS daytime drama, "The Bold and the Beautiful" when she decided to move on to full time painting.
