The Circus

Family Home by Fiona Barratt Interiors in North Stoke, GB

One of the most historic streets of in the city of Bath, Somerset, England these series of large townhouses were designed by the prominent architect John Wood, the Elder. Works commenced in in 1754, completing in 1768 and are regarded as a preeminent example of Georgian architecture. A Grade I listed building. The property is a five-floor family home consisting of one children’s bedroom, two guest bedrooms, a nanny’s bedroom and a master suite which takes up an entire floor. Elsewhere in the house is a large dining area, an entire floor dedicated to entertaining, his and hers studies and a large basement cinema room with vaulted ceiling. A soft colour scheme is enlivened by rich details. It is a modern classic project. A large amount of antiques were used throughout in order to tie in with the history of the building. The client has acquired a large number of artworks and is a prolific antiques collector, so the use of traditional pieces was imperative to the brief and vision of the design. Fiona brings harmony to the diverse collection of art, ceramics and furniture creating a welcoming place full of beautiful objects and fascinating stories.
