“My life has been shared between two countries, the United States and Mexico. I’ve experienced the hard rural life of my parents in Mexico and the dangerous and fragmented life of the inner city. I am a person made up from experiences from both of these worlds. I am Mexican but I am also American and I can slip between these two worlds with ease and exist in both simultaneously. Culture does not honor borders. Culture is about change and growth.
My work is inspired by the folk stories that my parents and grandparents have passed on. I have a desire to invent and share my own narratives and vision through printmaking. I want to be able to communicate through the image an invitation to tell a new story to be told or an old one to be remembered."

The inspiration for this print comes from walks along the beautiful North Norfolk coast. Salthouse is a small and very pretty village. Graphic artist, painter. Born in the family of the tenant. Zenta Muсenieсe wife - painter, daughter Ilse Muceniece - painter. In 1949 he graduated from the AAL department of Painting; Diploma work "Sportsman holiday " (head O. Skulme). He worked as a teacher and head of the teaching department at the J. Rosenthal Riga Art School (1950-56), editorial managers of landscape, poster and cards at publishing house "Liesma" (1966-68). He participated in exhibitions since 1948. Significant personal and memorabilia exhibition: in Riga (1969-70, 1971, 1975, 76, 78-79, 80, 85), Ogre (1978-79, 1989). Member of the Artists` Union of Latvia since 1959.
In easel graphic he carried away with monumentalism, poetically rich and naturally true person depiction, which realized in dynamic linocuts cycles ( "Latvian farm Anturage", 1961; "We want peace", 1962; "Spring Song", 1967). Concept of monumantalizing image developed in book graphics, primarily in the illustration to the prose (P. Bauģe "People near the water" 1961, R. Safety Pin by American artist George Nama is from ” Tightrope ” a suite of ten lino-cuts published by Monument Press 1974. We see a stark image of a large safety pin with a wire binding it’s movement which changes the viewers concept of what they think they are perceiving. In this series of ten lino-cuts Nama takes ordinary household objects and makes them inoperable by wrapping a wire around the workable part of the object and presenting one object at a time. There seems to be a sense of humor and at the same time profundity with each image. All copies are individually signed and numbered by the artist. This is copy number 5/50 and is touched by hand with watercolor on Arches cover stock paper and printed by Monument Press in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This print is in excellent condition with the first two letters of the title having been smudged by the artist when he hand wrote it in pencil on the lower left side of the print.

Whistle lino-cut from George Nama suite Tight Rope 1974

Whistle by American artist George Nama is from ” Tightrope ” a suite of ten lino-cuts published by Monument Press 1974. We see a stark image of a large whistle with a wire binding it’s movement which changes the viewers concept of what they think they are perceiving. In this series of ten lino-cuts Nama takes ordinary household objects and makes them inoperable by wrapping a wire around the workable part of the object and presenting one object at a time. There seems to be a sense of humor and at the same time profundity with each image. All copies are individually signed and numbered by the artist. This is copy number 5/50 and is touched by hand with watercolor on Arches cover stock paper and printed by Monument Press in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This print is in excellent condition.

Hoyle trained at Beckenham School of Art and the Royal College of Art. At the latter he was strongly influenced by Edward Bawden, one of Britain’s greatest linocut printers. Bawden had been commissioned by the 1951 Festival of Britain to produce a mural for the South Bank, and chose Hoyle to assist on account of his great talent. Hoyle moved to Great Bardfield in Essex, becoming a part of the Great Bardfield group of artists; diverse in style, they created figurative work, in stark contrast to the abstract art of the St Ives artists at the opposite end of the country.
Hoyle taught at St Martin’s School of Art from 1951-60, the Central School of Arts and Crafts from 1960-64, and the Cambridge School of Art from 1964...
