You are Here, The Dream Art Project
Located in New York, NY
The photograph is available in three sizes. The print is proposed as a face-mount; it is mounted to acrylic at the front and Dibond at the back. It is ready to hang with a metal bracket on the wall. The photograph titled "You Are Here" by Anne Valverde exhibits a minimalistic seascape where the vastness of the sea meets the expansive sky. The crisp horizon line divides the image into two broad swaths of muted color, imparting a sense of calm and infinity. The foreground is a textured white that looks almost like a continuation of the sea's surface, adding depth and grounding the photograph in a tangible reality. Against this serene backdrop, the phrase "You Are Here" is superimposed in a style reminiscent of neon signage. The contrast of the modern, human-made font with the natural setting plays on the idea of place and presence. It serves both as a marker of physical location and a philosophical statement about being present in the moment, offering a dual commentary on geography and consciousness. The artwork’s essence lies in its call for contemplation. In a world often dominated by haste and distraction, Valverde’s work is a gentle prompt to acknowledge and savor the present. The text acts as an anchor, pulling the viewer back from wherever their mind might wander, back to the 'here' that is not just a point in space, but a moment in time. The composition and the inclusion of the text work together to evoke a reflection on solitude and connectivity. In the absence of any human figures or traces of civilization other than the text, the image suggests isolation, yet the words imply a connection to the viewer. It is this paradox that enriches the photograph, encouraging a deeper engagement with the layers of meaning behind the simplicity of the captured scene. Since 2015, Valverde has been working on a neon light installation project in several countries, which she materialises through photography. The DREAM ART PROJECT Her portfolio “City Icons” in 2008 brought her work to public attention. A series about Iconic Monuments from Major cities like Paris, New York, Hong Kong, London, Dubaï… Writing with Neon brings together two passions for Anne Valverde: light and words thus incorporating her main medium of expression: Photography. Valverde brings artificial light to areas where electricity is absent, creating a dissonance in the landscape and an unexpected and dreamlike light, creating a new message, independent from preexisting signs and words. Valverde’s first message is "dream", as she invites the viewer to go past reality and reflect on open spaces for escape in a complex and tormented world. Some themes are recurring: an amused gaze on social media omnipresence, hyper-connectivity or even office language shortcuts. This contemplation of the natural landscape suddenly opens up to a perspective on social evolution. By inserting neon lights in her photographs, she initiates a return...

Blue Eiffel Tower Paris
Located in PARIS, FR
Winnie Denker is a Danish photographer born in 1938. She is one of the most acclaimed photographers of her long career. One day she was asked by UNESCO to take pictures of World Heritage Sites. Since then, her main interests became architecture, museums, historic sites, and urban landscapes. Winnie’s technique is quite special. She assembles her photographs with leds, making meticulous light boxes. To make the boxes so special, the LEDs are placed in very precise places by hand. A work of craftsmanship that only insiders can appreciate. The manufacture of a single box light can take several weeks, due to the meticulousness of the work on the light which must reproduce the vision of the artist. Winnie Denker moved to New York in 1975, when her photos were published in prestigious magazines such as Vogue and Elle. Her voyage to also gave rise to her first photographic book, published under the title "The Library of Nation USA "3. The artist's first published works include "Women's wear Daily" and "House and Gardens". In 1986, for the Eiffel Tower's centenary, the lighting design was entrusted to her friend Pierre Bideau. From then on, the photographer devoted a decade to the project, publishing three books featuring photos of the Iron Lady of Paris. It would be impossible to take these photos today, due to security measures.During this period, Winnie collaborated extensively with Françoise Sagan...

U.S.A., Neon Light Box Sculpture by Chryssa, 1962
Located in Long Island City, NY
This is a unique neon sculpture in plexi-box with stand. It is the very first completed Neon Sculpture by the famed sculptor and referenced in the monograph "Chryssa" by Pierre Restany. Chryssa, a Greek-born American sculptor who in the 1960s was one of the first people to transform neon lighting from an advertising vehicle into a fine art medium. A builder of large-scale assemblages in a wide range of materials — bronze, aluminum, plaster, wood, canvas, paint, found objects and, in the case of neon, light itself — Chryssa, whose work prefigured Minimalism and Pop Art, was considered a significant presence on the American art scene in the ’60s and ’70s. Exhibited widely in the United States in those years, her art is in the collections of major museums, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Guggenheim Museum and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, and the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington.
