Renaissance Revival 16, Archival Pigment Print Under Acrylic Glass

By Paul-Émile Rioux

Located in Miami, FL

Archival photo print under acrylic glass. Dimensions: 48 x 48 in. Depth: 1/4 in. Artist and photographer Paul-Émile Rioux lives in Montréal, Canada. His lifelong interest in cutting-edge media technology as well as his expertise in photography cast him as pioneer in digital art and allow him to develop virtual matrix from which he extracts his images. In his works he explores a universe that lies at the crossroad of abstraction and the figurative, inviting the viewer to determine if what he sees is a reflection of reality or imagination. Through is truly unique approach RIOUX is one of the most innovative artists in digital creations and one of the few creative minds able to blend with such keenness aesthetics research and critical distance. Whether they translate into a Dantesque urbanity or the infinite horizon of a turquoise ocean, the urban territory reflected by his creations offers a dystopian view of the world, challenging our attitude towards the environment and the future. From the onset, RIOUX has no intention of matching IRL expectations of what digital art 'should' look like, but strives to play with our notions of what's real, what's not, how we remember, and how we infer meaning into imaginary visual constructs. --- RIOUX started the Renaissance project in 2016. Renaissance further develops themes explored by RIOUX in his earlier series Turquoise Default. It is not merely a progression however, but also a contrast. This new series poses questions about hope, which is perhaps now more relevant than ever. “Renaissance invokes in us a sense of uncertainty and a self-awareness of our limits, of an infinity made apparent by the horizon line, the vanishing point, the moment in any spatial or temporal projection beyond which we can no longer see, but from which, nonetheless, we know the universe carries on. At the same time it poses a choice to us: do we accept the openness of abstraction or do we insist on imposing a (false) certainty of representation in what we see in these images. Hope is a faith made possible by uncertainty and the unknown, by an understanding that history and the future are creative acts, works of art in which we all participate.” Neal Rockwell There are 18 pieces in the RENAISSANCE collection. Each archival pigment print is produced under the supervision of the artist. The print is mounted under a single piece of 1/4"/ 6 mm gallery...

Circular Blue Wall Sculpture, Foam Clay Relief on Wood Panel, 50cm

By Vera Vizzi

Located in FISTERRA, ES

Circular blue wall sculpture in foam clay and acrylic on wood panel with bas-relief texture and miniature sculptural elements. This circular wall sculpture is constructed in hand-modeled foam clay over a round fir wood panel, finished with layered acrylic pigment and enamel accents. The composition operates as a mixed media wall sculpture that merges relief sculpture and contemporary sculptural painting, emphasizing tactile surface and chromatic depth. The bas-relief structure is built through low sculpted craters and raised spherical forms, creating a dynamic surface that shifts under light. Acrylic washes develop tonal variation across saturated ultramarine, matte greys, and luminous blue gradients, while enamel highlights introduce reflective contrast. Small sculpted spheres and miniature painted figures are integrated directly into the relief, reinforcing scale contrast and spatial layering. Material presence is central: foam clay is modeled to maintain structural lightness while achieving dimensional articulation. The circular wood support provides stability and a defined compositional boundary, strengthening the object’s identity as a circular relief sculpture rather than a conventional painting. The work is designed for vertical display and functions as a sculptural focal point in contemporary interiors. Its strong blue palette positions it effectively within searches for blue wall sculpture, mixed media relief, and circular wall art...

STATEMENT In site-specific exhibitions, public art commissions, collaborative and individual projects Jo Yarrington has used varied combinations of glass, waxed surfaces, found artifacts and experimental analog photography to investigate the way we perceive – searching for, experimenting with and developing throughout a sensory-based vernacular. Her mostly translucent materials function as physical framework and symbolic membrane. Light, both natural and ambient, provides a kinetic or time-based element to her work. Scale and the integration of architecture are also pivotal components. In the 6-part installation for the two-person exhibition Illuminated, Yarrington continues her interest in the connections between vision, sound and language. In Mute-ability: Compositions 1 – 6, her title for this light-based comprehensive work, she combines the words mute and malleability. The work focuses on found piano rolls, a music storage medium, originally conceived as coded notations or ‘note control data’ for music produced in pneumatic player pianos...

"Audrey on Green" Mixed Media Figurative Collage Composition on Panel Board

By Jon Davenport

Located in New York, NY

This piece depicts a colorful collage composition portrait of Audrey Hepburn, as Jon Davenport explores the process of deconstructing iconic imagery from the past and present. Davenport start’s out with photos of his paint-stained studio floor and collages in articles/advertising from an array of vintage magazines collected over the years; plus any other interesting stuff captured on his travels. He then transfers the images to a panel board, layering them on with gel medium, together with strokes, splashes, drips, and splats of paint. Once it's dry, another layer of gel medium is poured on to give it a melting effect. After it drys off again, another layer of paint is added to embellish a few areas and to accentuate or fade out certain aspects. And then, he finally adds a coat of polyurethane for protection and making the colors pop. This unique work is executed on a wood panel board and comes ready to be displayed with hanging wire on verso, signed by the artist lower right. Art measures 36 x 24 inches From biology student to owning and running a creative agency in London to a career as a fine artist, life has taken Jon Davenport on a rewarding and unconventional journey. Despite his scientific beginnings, he’s always had a strong artistic streak weaving its way through his different career paths. Growing up in Ipswich, UK, Jon was always an avid drawer, and could often be found with a pencil and paper in hand. With the arrival of his first computer, he embraced the new frontier of digital art and had work published in one of those early computer magazines. His creative urges took a backseat to get a biology degree at Brunel University in London. It was afterward, in his first job working at the Archant newspaper group in Ipswich, that he quickly progressed from plate maker to becoming an integral member of the art studio. It was during this time that he taught himself photoshop, desktop publishing, and graphic & web design. After a few years, he set up a design agency, and eventually went full time and moved to London. This proved to be a successful move, working for a number of clients such as Nike and Virgin, and gaining praise from the likes of Richard Branson and Tony Blair. It wasn’t until Jon moved to the USA to marry his wife, Atlanta artist Christy Kinard...

By Massimo Vitali

Located in San Francisco, CA

large format photograph of iconic Icelandic hot springs by iconic Italian photographer Massimo Vitali, renowned for his grand scale topographical observations of the rites and rituals of modern leisure Myvatn Nature Baths (2016) 61.25” x 81” / 156 cm x 206 cm signed, titled and dated verso edition of 6 + 2AP original archival photography print with diasec (acrylic glass) face mount in contemporary white gallery frame Each limited edition original photograph is printed in Italy under artist supervision in strictly limited edition (6 + 2AP) , signed/titled/dated upon final inspection and expertly framed at renowned European art framing facility About the artist: Massimo Vitali was born in Como, Italy, in 1944. He studied photography at the London College of Printing, in the 1970s initially working as a photojournalist, but at the beginning of the 80s a growing mistrust in the belief, that photography had an absolute capacity to reproduce the subtleties of reality, led to a change in his career path. He worked in cinematography for film and television before beginning a fine art practice in 1995. Over the next two decades, Vitali’s large scale works would become recognizable for his highly detailed sociopolitical observations of the natural habitat of humankind at leisure. His iconic series of beach panoramas, captured from a distance with an elevated large format camera platform, began in the light of drastic political changes in Italy. Drawing inspiration from Renaissance and Old Flemish masters, in which the central space is fully exploited and the urban or natural landscape becomes the background, Vitali’s photographs grasp the viewer by capturing highly detailed observances of humanity’s coastal habitats in the bright light of summer. Vitali’s work has been collected in six monographs: Beach and Disco, Natural Habitats, Landscapes With Figures, Swimming Pools, Short Stories and the just published Entering A New World. Additionally, his work is represented in the world’s major museums, including the Centro de Arte Reina Sofia in Madrid, the Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Denver, the Fond National Art Contemporaine in Paris, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Musée National d’Art Moderne in Paris, the Fondation Cartier in Paris and the Museo Luigi Pecci in Prato.
