Dan Lam, an Instagram sensation, has captivated audiences with her tactile, technicolor sculptures that ingeniously employ unconventional materials, skillfully dancing along the fine line between attraction and repulsion. Crafted from painted polyurethane foam and often adorned with spikes, her amorphous creations, seemingly in a state of perpetual melting and dripping, have earned Lam a devoted following on social media platforms. Lam's exploration of the creative possibilities inherent in foam began after she earned her MFA from Arizona State University, and her artistic journey has been marked by a relentless quest to push the boundaries of this medium. Despite their otherworldly appearance, Lam consistently draws inspiration from the ordinary, drawing from the wellspring of nature and the intricate nuances of the human form.
