Expectation is said to be the mother of manifestation. Expectations do come to reality if worked upon and not aborted. Threads of Resilience: Contemporary Mixed Media Painting on Canvas

By Bakare Abubakri-sideeq Babatunde

Located in Ibadan, Oyo

"Threads of Resilience" is a captivating painting that portrays a black African woman sitting gracefully on a chair, her hand resting gently on the backrest. She wears a stunning Balenciaga dress adorned with intricate pieces of Ankara fabric around the neck and on the sleeves. The vibrant Ankara fabric adds a touch of cultural richness to the modern fashion. The inspiration behind this painting lies in the story of a young girl named Fatimah. Her adoration for the designer dress, so lovingly crafted with a fusion of styles, is palpable. However, fate took a cruel turn as the dress was stolen while hanging on a wire, where she had placed it to dry. Despite this misfortune, the painting captures the essence of Fatimah's resilience and unwavering spirit, showcasing her ability to embrace both the beauty of fashion and the challenges of life. "Threads of Resilience" serves as a tribute to the strength and grace that can emerge from even the most trying circumstances. Shipping Procedure Ships in a well-protected tube from Nigeria. Broadway - Photorealistic Oil and Enamel Painting on Canvas

By Ross Tamlin

Located in Los Angeles, CA

Ross Tamlin's unique photorealistic compositions merge traditional painting methods with modern industrial techniques to create captivating works of art. Using layers of oil and enamel paint, Tamlin creates an illusion of corrugation that adds depth and texture to his pieces. His use of industrial imagery and found objects is a nod to contemporary art, while his bold color palette and incorporation of text is a nod to the Pop Art movement. Tamlin created this one-of-a-kind, vibrant, and colorful painting measuring 42 inches high by 36 inches wide and 1.25 inches deep with oil and enamel paint on canvas. The sides of the canvas are painted in a continuation of the front eliminating the need for framing. In addition to being signed by the artist on the front, the artwork also comes with a certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery. The certificate guarantees the authenticity and provenance of the artwork. Free delivery is available for those in the local Los Angeles area, and affordable worldwide shipping is available for US and international art collectors. In this artwork, Tamlin reworks the traditional idea of landscape painting by incorporating text and familiar places' names, such as New York neighborhoods, painted in large letters over the colorful photorealistic painted corrugated metal. This photorealistic painting by Ross Tamlin is so expertly executed that it perfectly mimics the texture and appearance of corrugated metal, even when seen in person. However, upon much closer inspection from the side at a nearly 90-degree angle, the levelness of the canvas is revealed, allowing you to appreciate the skillful brushwork of oil and enamel paint that gives the amazing illusion of depth and texture. With meticulous attention to detail, Tamlin imparts extraordinary depth to the painting, creating a finish that emulates the shine of polished metal and further enhances the piece's realistic appearance. This original artwork stands as a testament to Tamlin's remarkable talent and precision, demonstrated through the inclusion of even the smallest details, such as the masterfully painted rusty rivet holes. Tamlin's works are represented by Artspace Warehouse Los Angeles and are held in private collections worldwide, including Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Singapore, the USA, Switzerland, and France. Contemporary Mixed Media Painting on Canvas: Interactions in Art

By Barnabas Macauley

Located in Ibadan, Oyo

Interactions is an original painting by Barnabas Macauley. Interactions was created with Mixed Media (Charcoal, Acrylic, and Pencil on a primed 36W by 48H inches canvas. Barnabas Macauley uses this painting to examine how we deal with internal conflicts of exactly what to do during our waiting process. The chaos of these interactions however was deliberately not the point of focus in the artwork but how they're being gracefully dealt with. The best way to often times handle conflict is to first be unlike the conflict we are dealing with. It is to be calm during the rigorous process and avoid the temptation to act desperately, thereby igniting the conflagration of the storm. We need to have those deep interactions in our minds and deal with them without losing our minds. Shipping Procedure Ships in a well-protected tube from Nigeria This work is unique, not a print or other type of copy. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity (Issued by the Gallery) About Artist Macaulay Barnabas Osagie is a self-taught Artist and a graduate of the prestigious University of Benin, Nigeria, West Africa. Hailed from Benin heritage, which is known for its rich history, culture, and traditions. Growing up, He was fascinated by esthetics as a form of expression; this propelled his journey into the world of art. His passion for art began at the age of five, scribbling images on the ground using sticks—it evolved into drawings in primary and secondary schools. He was often selected among students to represent my secondary school in various art competitions. "Knowing that Art fuels my existence and helps me connect with the world better, in 2018, I decided to not only do art for love and relief, but to explore it professionally, and build a renowned career in the industry. One that reflects my views on societal issues and serves as an echo of hope. Determined to pay my dues, I had the privilege of working at Prince Saheed Adelakun's Olokun Art Studio in Abule-Egba, Lagos. It was there I met with other professionals. I created my first series titled "Odan Series"; which was expressed via hyperrealism. I created this series at the point when my life was in shambles; I was going through a rough phase; working on this series was my solace at the time. "Over the years, I have created brilliant artworks using charcoal and pencil on paper and have evolved using acrylic and charcoal on canvas as my primary media of visual articulation; these works take various forms and for various purposes, all a reflection of my creativity and depth. I am drawn to figurative African contemporary art and surrealism...

Symbol of Memories: Contemporary Mixed Media Canvas Painting

By Oladimeji Alabi

Located in Ibadan, Oyo

Symbol of Memories 1 is an original painting by Oladimeji Alabi. Oladimeji created the Symbol of Memories with Mixed Media on a 30W by 50H inches primed canvas. The symbol of Memories is inspired by the story of my childhood. The objects and signs we grew up with as a child in our homes become symbols of our memories today. Art has the ability to evoke strong emotions and convey meaningful messages. One such artwork that does just that is "Symbol of Memories," a stunning piece that uses the mother as a symbol of life and hope. This artwork is made even more significant by the use of damask fabric, which was popular among Nigerian women in the late 70s to 90s and used for making gele, the head ties worn by women. The artwork speaks volumes about the importance of mothers in society. The mother is dressed in a vibrant damask fabric, which adds a sense of richness and texture to the painting. The use of damask fabric in the painting is significant as it represents a part of Nigerian culture and history. Damask was a popular fashion among Nigerian women in the late 70s to 90s and was used to make gele, the head ties worn by women on special occasions. The fabric is often associated with elegance, sophistication, and beauty, which adds a layer of meaning to the artwork. The mother in the painting is the focal point of the artwork, symbolizing the importance of mothers in society. Mothers are the backbone of families, providing love, support, and guidance to their children. They are often the ones who hold families together through difficult times, serving as a symbol of hope and resilience. The use of the damask fabric in the painting also represents the concept of memories. The fabric has a rich history in Nigerian culture, and for many people, it is a symbol of their childhood and the memories they hold dear. The painting serves as a reminder of the importance of preserving memories, both good and bad, and how they shape our lives. Overall, "Symbol of Memories" is a beautiful piece of art that celebrates the role of mothers in society. The use of damask fabric adds a layer of meaning to the painting, representing the importance of preserving memories and the rich culture of Nigeria. The mother as a focused subject symbolizes life and hope, the fabric applied in this art is called damask, which was a popular fashion among Nigerian women around the late 70s to 90s used for making gele(the head ties). Shipping Procedure Ships in a well-protected tube from Nigeria This work is unique, not a print or other type of copy. I stared at the man with keen interest, hoping to know more about what life has in store for me. The man looked at me sternly, and I couldn’t be more convinced he had seen everything, including my afterlife. A strange language jolted me back to reality as I realized the lady in the room had arrived at the intersection where "Malaicha" and other spirits were. I watched in confusion as the man quickly scribbled down what appeared to be an interpretation of the foreign tongue. My patience dwindled per second as the man kept penning down words. To shorten a long story short, the interpretation was presented in bold letters. My background was also written as additional proof of the veracity of the "spirit." I became eager to know the way forward. "Abeg, Sir, and Ma help my life." "I want to come out of my family's shackles and enemies," I pleaded. They exchanged a knowing look as if they’d been anticipating this moment. My pockets started running dry while my anxiety spiked. I was told to join their religion and denominations. Of course, it’s preferable to go from "God" to "God" in spiritual warfare. I wish to go back to the point of ignorance, where no one was after my life and every day was another day to conquer. A few months later, I realized that to see beyond any circumstances, we must be at ease and calm; we are better able to discern people’s motivations. To see beyond is to see with our inner eyes rather than filthy, unknown eyes. To see beyond is to remain steadfast in personal prayer and to hold out hope that your prayers will be heard. By Barnabas Macauley

Located in Ibadan, Oyo

Idehen seeks to address and depict our journey of self-discovery. The journey is more important than the destination, I've often learned. Idehen in bini, means to stand firm. To be confident in ourselves, which of course grows as we journey through various paths. Sometimes, one may hold on to arrogance if necessary because the world would often tries to enforce its projections on us. It is imperative to stand firm even as we walk across these borders of existential questions about why we are here and what we are to do. Centuries (Abstract Geometric Encaustic Painting In Patterned Ochre and White)

By Alaina Enslen

Abstract geometric encaustic painting in patterned ochre on white "Centuries Spliced Open" made by Hudson Valley artist, Alaina Enslen, in 2022 Encaustic & monotype mounted on panel 30 x 41 x 2 inches, sides reveal raw wood sides Excellent condition, ready to hang Lightweight Signed, verso This abstract minimalist painting is made with pattered ochre monotypes on an encaustic white background. The paper, which is adhered to a light wood Birch panel and layered with a subtle layer of encaustic, is arranged in a geometric motif that accentuates the play of negative space. The layered paper and encaustic create a textured, impasto surface. About the artist: Alaina Enslen expresses her artistic vision through repurposed fabrics infused with beeswax. The Cornwall-On-Hudson based artist collects pieces of textile that evoke memory, tradition, or experience like cherished worn heirlooms, discarded clothes, and religious garments, which are then assembled on panel in an abstract patchwork. Favoring fabrics with a neutral or subtle cool palette, she flattens and frays the material to explore color, form, and lines, reimaging used cloth...

Melanated Queen Mixed Media Painting, Expressionist, Unframed Art

By Abayomi Odetomi

Located in Ibadan, Oyo

"Melanated Queen" is more than just a painting; it's a tribute to the beauty that resides within melanin-rich individuals and an homage to the resilience of African queens throughout history. Odetomi expertly captures the essence of this woman, her features exuding confidence and pride. The warm, earthy tones used to depict her skin convey a sense of strength and natural beauty, while the rose flower ribbon symbolizes femininity and grace. The woman's posture in the painting is a testament to the empowerment of women, especially women of color. Her regal posture and unyielding gaze project an aura of self-assuredness, breaking free from the limiting stereotypes that have plagued the representation of African women in art for centuries. Odetomi's brushstrokes artfully depict the subtle yet powerful transformation of vulnerability into strength, revealing the queen-like qualities present within every woman. Central to the artwork is the rose flower ribbon adorning the woman's hair. The rose has long been associated with love, beauty, and passion, and its presence here infuses the painting with a sense of romance and elegance. Moreover, the rose flower ribbon serves as a symbol of the interconnectedness between nature and the woman's identity. It highlights the harmony she shares with the world around her, as well as her ability to nurture and cultivate beauty in her surroundings. Abayomi Odetomi...

Brothers 1: Expressionist Oil and Charcoal Painting on Canvas

By Daniel Oguche Junior

Located in Ibadan, Oyo

The bond between brothers, whether by blood or through the strong connection forged by friendship, is truly special. It's amazing how we can find support and solace in those who may not be family but have chosen to be there for us. Martin Luther rightly said, "We have flown the air like birds and swum the sea like fishes, but we have yet to learn the simple act of walking the earth like brothers". In a collective society, it's crucial for us to embrace the concept of being our brother's keeper. By nurturing a sense of empathy and compassion, we can make a positive difference in each other's lives. Whether it's lending a helping hand, offering a listening ear, or providing support during challenging times, being there for one another creates a stronger and more supportive community. Let us always cherish and celebrate the unbreakable bond we share with our brothers, both by blood and through the deep connections we form along life's journey. Together, we can create a world where everyone feels loved, supported, and appreciated.
