To The Wonders
Located in Ibadan, Oyo
Adetayo's "To The Wonders" is a symphony of colors that immediately draws the eye and engages the senses. The artist masterfully employs a kaleidoscope of hues, from deep, rich purples and reds to bright, vivacious yellows and greens. These colors blend harmoniously, creating a vibrant tapestry that envelops the viewer and sets a joyful and celebratory tone. At the center of the artwork, we find a woman elegantly seated, her posture exuding confidence and grace. Her face is illuminated, and her eyes are partly closed with a sense of merriment and anticipation. In her hand, she holds a wine glass, gracefully raised in a toast, as if inviting us to partake in a moment of celebration and reflection. The wine glass in the woman's hand is a focal point of the artwork. It glistens with the play of light and shadow, almost inviting the viewer to join in the toast. Wine, often associated with conviviality and communion, becomes a symbol of the simple joys and pleasures that life has to offer. Adetayo's meticulous attention to detail in rendering the glass reflects his commitment to capturing life's fleeting moments in all their brilliance. "To The Wonders" is more than just a representation of a woman raising a glass; it is an ode to the wonders of life itself. It encourages us to pause, savor the present, and find beauty in the everyday moments that often go unnoticed. Adetayo's work is a reminder that life is worth celebrating, whether it's a personal achievement, a gathering with loved ones, or the simple act of raising a glass to a new day. Adetayo's artwork also prompts us to consider the deeper layers of human existence. Beneath the surface celebration, there may be an underlying message about the importance of cherishing the beauty of diversity and the wonders that come from sharing our lives with others. The woman in "To The Wonders" appears to be inviting us not only to celebrate but also to embrace the interconnectedness of humanity. In "To The Wonders," Adeniyi Joshua Adetayo...

Spring of Hope
Located in Ibadan, Oyo
"Spring of Hope," encapsulates the essence of the artwork. Just as spring represents a season of rejuvenation and new beginnings, the woman in this piece embodies the idea of hope blooming anew. The flowing scarf, with its gentle and fluid movement, conjures images of a gentle breeze, carrying with it the promise of better days ahead. Oyindamola's use of color in "Spring of Hope" is both intentional and evocative. She employs soft, pastel hues that evoke a sense of serenity and optimism. The woman's visage radiates tranquility, and her eyes suggest a moment of introspection and inner peace. It's as if she is embracing the beauty of the present while eagerly anticipating the opportunities that the future may hold. The central figure in "Spring of Hope" is rendered with remarkable attention to detail. Oyindamola captures the elegance and grace of the woman, who exudes a sense of poise and strength. Her closed eyes convey a sense of trust and surrender, suggesting a willingness to embrace the unknown with open arms. Symbolism plays a crucial role in this artwork. The scarf, flowing around the woman's neck, is a powerful symbol of continuity and resilience. It represents the idea that no matter the challenges faced, there is always a thread of hope that connects us to a brighter future. The scarf's circular form also signifies the cyclical nature of life, where endings inevitably give way to new beginnings. "Spring of Hope" is a painting that resonates deeply with viewers, inviting them to reflect on the ever-present possibility of renewal in their own lives. The closed eyes of the woman encourage introspection and a sense of connection with the universal human experience of longing for better days. Oyewumi Oyindamola...

My Lady
Located in Ibadan, Oyo
"My Lady" is a testament to the artist's admiration for the beauty that women possess in their unique forms. Oyindamola skillfully captures the essence of femininity through the lady's enchanting smile, which radiates joy and confidence. This portrayal challenges society's narrow definitions of beauty, reminding us that every woman, regardless of societal standards, possesses an innate beauty that should be recognized and celebrated. Through "My Lady," Oyindamola emphasizes the crucial need to respect and appreciate all women. The artwork stands as a visual proclamation, demanding that society view women not as objects to be scrutinized or judged but as individuals deserving of dignity and admiration. By depicting the lady with a smile on her face, the artist reminds us that every woman deserves to be seen and treated with respect, acknowledging her inherent worth beyond physical appearances. In "My Lady," Oyindamola captures a sense of empowerment and self-love that every woman should embrace. The lady's radiant smile symbolizes her self-assuredness and acceptance of her own beauty. By presenting this image, the artist encourages women to recognize their own worth and appreciate their individuality. The artwork serves as a reminder that self-love is the foundation for demanding respect and appreciation from others. "My Lady" challenges the stereotypes and societal norms that often diminish the value and potential of women. Oyindamola's artwork sparks a dialogue about gender equality, urging viewers to reflect on the importance of dismantling the barriers that prevent women from fully expressing themselves and realizing their dreams. By portraying the lady as a strong and confident figure, the artist invites us to redefine our perceptions of women and advocate for their empowerment. Through "My Lady," Oyindamola underscores the importance of unity and inclusivity in championing the rights and recognition of all women. The artwork emphasizes that beauty comes in diverse forms and that every woman, regardless of race, age, or background, should be valued and respected. The lady's smile and the necklace she wears become symbols of unity, reminding us of the strength and beauty that arise from embracing diversity. Oyewumi...

Surrealist Large Painting Royal College Art LGBTQ+ Female Blue Birds Paradise
Located in Norfolk, GB
Isabel Rock is a creator of contemporary fairy tales. A graduate of the Royal College of Art in London, her work is an explosion of strange occurrences while a surreal narrative takes the audience on a journey into the imagination. In October 2023 Isabel won the Evelyn Williams Drawing Award at the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize. Known as the UK’s most prestigious annual open exhibition for drawing; part of the prize is a solo show at Hastings Contemporary, scheduled for 2024. Whilst Isabel always has a tale to tell for each of her images, you may or may not choose to go on the journey with her or you may indeed have a different story, one of your own that jumps off the page at you, that that you decide to follow. Artwork Details: Paradise Island, 148x111.5cm, ink, acrylic paint and mixed media on paper, 2013 Artwork Provenance: from the Artist Studio photo credits, Isabel working, black and white shots, James Brown In Isabel's own words: Paradise island It truly was paradise on paradise island. No plastic bottles touched these shores, no human hand had exploited the rich minerals and resources of the land, no complicated administrative tasks affected the residents. The birdmen who lived there were united in one common purpose, and that was to wait for The Egg. They waited day and night in a fever of excitement, hours and days and sometimes weeks went past and they did not grow weary, this only increased their anticipation. They stretched their arms to the sky and called for The Egg to bless them by falling. Deep in the hearts of the birdmen was a thing never spoken of and rarely even aknowledged to themselves, a common secret, that when The Egg actually fell it was not as good as the anticipation of it. *Please note we are happy to ship this work rolled in an art tube. Whilst the work is on heavy duty art paper and mixed media, the artist is happy that the painting will be fine rolled in a tube. This is a more cost effective and environmentally sound method of shipping. Shipping via this method is free. About Isabel Rock and her work: Taking inspiration from Japanese woodblock prints and Indian miniature painting Rock has developed a unique collage technique that combines bold structures with large-scale woodblock prints and intricate detailing. The subject is a grand mixture of humour, drama, hidden morals, fanciful characters, modern culture, mythical beings and fantastical situations. Rock creates a world that pulls you in and demands your attention. Quality of line is paramount, the drawings are created using a dipping pen and acrylic ink. An essential tool is a squirrel’s hair brush that gives incredible fine lines and was purchased on her travels in India. Born in Hammersmith, London in 1981, Rock knew her destiny was to be an artist. Studying Fine Art Printmaking at The University of Brighton and graduating with First Class Honours in 2004 she went on to do a Masters Degree at The Royal College of Art in London, continuing her studies in printmaking and drawing, graduating in 2008. Her first solo show at Bearspace Gallery in Deptford, London in April 2009 sold out and was the beginning of a career that continues to rise. Rock participated in the first ever India Art Fair represented by Art 1821...

Artwork Details: Tom Yum Yum, 142x121.5cm, ink, mixed media and acrylic paint on paper, 2013 Artwork Provenance: from the Artist Studio photo credits, Isabel working, black and white shots, James Brown In Isabel's own words: Tom Yum Yum Of the King prawns, the normal prawns and the shrimps, all prawns were equal when they were in the soup. There was no monarchy in the hot volcanic bubbles of the boiling tasty soup. All the prawns had regrets, some more than others. Some regretted they had spent more time with their prawn spawn, others that they had been kinder to their friends, it all seemed rather trivial now, the petty jealousies, the rivalry, the endless striving to get ahead, trying to find the best mating partner. None of it really mattered as the soupy steam engulfed them. 'We had a good time,' shouted one valiant King prawn, 'I did my best,' came a high squeak of a shrimp. 'I tried to be content with what I had, that's all that matters but it is hard when constantly bombarded with images of others success,' said a thoughtful prawn. *Please note we are happy to ship this work rolled in an art tube.
