By Janette Dye

Located in Los Angeles, CA

Janette Dye's abstract artworks embody a harmonious fusion of form, color, and texture, epitomizing the perfect blend of elegance and modernity. Through her masterful application of delicately textured acrylics, juxtaposed with bold lines and vibrant color fields, Dye creates a captivating contrast that accentuates the organic geometric shapes within her paintings. Vibrant and dynamic, her abstract compositions emanate energy and warmth, infusing any space with an inviting atmosphere. This 36-inch square original and vibrant painting is wired and ready to hang. The sides of the red, yellow, and black artwork are painted black eliminating the need for framing and creating a cohesive, finished look. The painting is wired and ready to hang, making it a hassle-free addition to any wall. It's signed by the artist on the back, adding an extra touch of authenticity and value. Convenient local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and worldwide shipping. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included with the artwork, ensuring that the piece is an authentic work of art from Janette Dye. Born in England in 1962, Janette Dye's artistic journey was shaped by the contrasts and movements of her upbringing in a quaint village near the industrial city of Manchester. Early on, she received guidance from the renowned English painter, Harold Riley, igniting her lifelong passion for art. Later, the works of Riley's mentor, L.S. Lowry, resonated deeply with Dye, reflecting the strained moods of Northern factories and their laborers—a subject intimately connected to her family history. Inspired by Lowry's ability to capture overpowering emotions through strong stylized forms, Dye delved into abstract art, discovering a profound connection between her art and everyday life. In recent years, Dye has had the privilege of collaborating with esteemed artists such as DOWNS, mentored by Karl Benjamin and Frederick Hammersley. Her artworks have graced exhibitions throughout the United States and have found a home in the prestigious Capital One corporate collection. Be Bold Oil Painting on Canvas, Expressionist, 21st Century, Unframed

By Adewuyi Theophilus

Located in Ibadan, Oyo

"Be Bold" is a striking piece that demands attention from the moment one sets eyes on it. The central figure, a woman with flowing blue hair, exudes an air of confidence and resilience. The blue hue not only serves as an aesthetic choice but also carries deeper significance, representing the freedom to break societal norms and embrace personal identity without fear. The composition is masterfully crafted, with bold brushstrokes and intricate details that draw the viewer into the artwork. The woman's piercing gaze locks with the observer, inviting them to explore their own journey of self-discovery and empowerment. Each stroke of Theophilus's brush seems to radiate energy and passion, capturing the spirit of the subject and infusing the artwork with a powerful presence. "Be Bold" serves as a powerful symbol of embracing individuality and embracing one's true self. The woman with blue hair stands as a representation of those who dare to be different, challenging societal expectations and norms. The vibrant blue color symbolizes freedom, confidence, and the courage to break free from conformity. In a world that often pressures individuals to fit into predefined molds, Theophilus's artwork is a reminder of the beauty and strength found in embracing one's unique qualities. "Be Bold" calls on viewers to celebrate their differences, encouraging them to step out of their comfort zones and express their true selves without hesitation or fear of judgment. The power of "Be Bold" lies in its ability to evoke a strong emotional response in those who experience it. The artwork serves as a catalyst for introspection, urging viewers to reflect on their own lives and choices. The confident and defiant gaze of the woman with blue hair prompts individuals to question their own limitations and seek the courage to break free from them. By inspiring viewers to be bold, Theophilus encourages self-empowerment and personal growth. Through his art, he instills a sense of pride and confidence, reminding us that our uniqueness is a strength to be celebrated, not hidden away. The artwork's impact extends beyond the confines of the gallery walls, inspiring individuals to embrace their authentic selves and pursue their passions with unwavering determination. Tide Goes Out: Abstract Expressionist Oil Painting in Blue, Grey, Green, Beige

By Jenny Nelson

Located in Hudson, NY

Vertical abstract expressionist oil painting on canvas in earthy shades of sky blue and Payne's grey, with accents of green and peach against an off-white foreground 'When the Tide Goes Out' painted by Hudson Valley artist, Jenny Nelson, in 2022 Oil on canvas 60 x 54 x 1.5 inches, with white painted sides Excellent condition, ready to hang Signed, verso This abstract expressionist oil painting was painted by Woodstock, NY based artist, Jenny Nelson, in 2022. The colorful abstract composition is completed in an expressionist style with loose and gestural brushstrokes in calming tones of dusty blue, stone blue, and green. The contrasting patches of pale pink and peach pop against the subtle pale beige and light blue background. Color is applied in light layers which is noticeable in the faint yet visible under tones of the painting. The oil painting is unframed, with white painted sides, so framing is optional. The artist's signature is located on the back of the painting. Artist Statement: My work has always been anchored in drawing. I spent years drawing and painting from life. This instilled a strong sense of space and structure. At some point I became more interested in the negative space surrounding the objects I was observing and modifying the objects themselves. I began to organically develop an abstract language, but the sense of structure and organization remained constant in the painting. I apply paint in layers using palette knives, brushes and oil sticks. I initially draw loose gestures and a variety of spontaneous marks. Often traces of previous layers remain visible, allowing colors to interact in ways I could not have anticipated. This process leaves me feeling quite lost a lot of the time, and I have had to learn to become comfortable with that feeling. This sometimes builds to frustration, and I will scrape off much of what was applied, but the result of doing this is often something wonderful that moves the painting forward. I view the painting process as a collaboration between myself and the materials. A conversation starts that has a beginning and an end, but everything in between is unpredictable. It seems at first some exciting things may show up but it’s important to disregard these first, too beautiful bursts, work over them, and develop something deeper from them. As the painting evolves, shapes and lines solidify, and I begin to see how the parts affect the whole. This way of layering, adding and subtracting, creates a history on the canvas. Shapes have a story to tell. Lines that have been obliterated and resurrected over and over again have an emotional charge. This process that started as a wild party ends up as a contemplative carefully edited composition, involving precise modifications, while hopefully leaving the life force in tact. About the artist: Jenny Nelson attended Maine College of Art in Portland Maine, and is a graduate of Bard College, where she received a scholarship to the Lacoste School of the Arts in France. She has been living in Woodstock, New York for nearly two decades, including a Residency at the Byrdcliffe Art Colony from November 2004-08. Jenny has been exhibiting for many years nationally and regionally.
