Nocturne
Located in Denver, CO
Inspired by scenes from iconic American landscapes, ranging from arid deserts to lush forests, Jacobsen delves into humanity’s connection to nature and the technology that often mediates that experience. Embedded in the works is the recognition of nature’s immense power in contrast to its quickening fragility. Increasingly, under threat from the continuing rollback of regulations and protections in favor of exploitation for commercial gain, the double-edged sword of technology and the legacy of Westward expansion continue into the present day. For Jacobsen, American parks act as a foil to European colonization and resource extraction. While the creation of National Parks may be one of America’s greatest innovations, in preserving these beautiful and once wild places, they are in practice reduced to roadside attractions. Jacobsen states, “By elevating these picturesque landscapes we also diminish our own place in them. No longer are we participants in the divine dance but instead menacing spectators observing from stadium...

"Redondo Rua Do Castelo" Oil Painting
Located in Denver, CO
Ulrich Gleiter's (EUR based) "Redondo Rua Do Castelo" is an oil painting that depicts European architecture along a small street. Bio/Artist Statement: German-born artist Ulrich Gleiter (b. 1977) is noted for his landscapes. His style is sometimes reminiscent of German expressionism and the Russian impressionists. He first studied at the Dresden Academy of Arts and later at the Repin Academy in Saint Petersburg, Russia. His work has been recognized with awards in the USA and in Russia and been featured in books and magazines. "Ulrich Gleiter is a citizen of the world. Born in Saarbrücken, Germany, he pursued his undergraduate studies at Dresden’s Academy of Fine Arts, where he learned to paint with the bold, colorful strokes handed down from the early 20th-century German expressionists. Students there prioritized their individuality — no one but you could have made this picture, they were told. Gleiter then absorbed a different view of artistry during his exchange year at Moscow’s Surikov Institute, followed by six more years at the Repin Institute in St. Petersburg. Today Gleiter divides time between Germany, Russia, and the United States, where he has become much admired among plein-airists in such scenic places as Colorado, California, and Wyoming. In our era of diplomatic tensions, when Crimea and Russia appear regularly in the headlines, Gleiter feels a renewed appreciation for nature’s timelessness — for its inspiring capacity to rise above the ins-and-outs of man-made problems. Today, he says, “I often think about the history of an area where I am painting, about how many troubles and beautiful things may have happened there. Most importantly, I am humbled to observe how natural forces never stop moving.” Gleiter turns his searching eye not only to wilderness, but also to the banalities of urban life — to parked cars, the glinting sprawl of an automobile dealer’s lot, retail stores, and even cargo ships. There, too — as in his portraits, nudes, and still lifes — he manages to find abstracted beauty and emotional significance in the interactions of light, color, and air." Autumnal San Francisco Cove and Surf with Whalers Shack circa 1900
Located in Soquel, CA
Autumnal San Francisco Cove and Surf with Whalers Shack circa 1900 Early California Tonalist painting of the San Francisco Coast and a Whalers Cabin. Possibly by D.A. Fisher (American, 1867-1940). Nocturnal paintings in the late 19th century were very popular in the United States. Condition is stellar and excellent with a period frame having a bit of age yellowing to the finish and the gold leaf filets are beaming. Image, 16"H x 22"D Frame, 22"H x 28"W x 2.5"D Fisher appears to have spent most of his career in Portland, Maine. He was an itinerant artist who painted in the San Francisco Bay area in 1891 and at Mount Shasta...

Eve of Destruction - Modern Interpretation of the Garden of Eden, Original Oil
Located in Chicago, IL
Once the innocence is gone, the true character of Eve is revealed in Rose Freymuth Frazier's painting entitled "Eve of Destruction". Complete with a tattooed belly and a necklace that reads "Bitch", this interpretation of Eve after her expulsion from the Garden is a truly modern one. She has a cigarette hanging from her mouth, is carving that poison apple with seemingly not a care in the world as a beautifully colored snake makes itself at home around her neck. This piece is framed in a heavy black wooden frame measuring 60 x 40 inches Rose Freymuth-Frazier Eve of Destruction, 2021 oil on canvas 54h x 34w in 137.16h x 86.36w cm RFF057 Rose Freymuth-Frazier Employing the techniques of the past in the service of contemporary exploration, I seek to add a fresh voice to the sometimes venerable, sometimes dusty and archaic tradition of large-scale figurative painting, while subtly addressing the mythology, objectification and subjugation of women. My subjects are at first glance close to home-new mothers, friends, lovers, artists, dancers-but are then quickly placed at a distance via edgy modification, rigorous technique, minimal contexts and composition, and idiosyncratic use of color. I am also interested in social presentation, artifice, and simulation as they relate to my subjects. I hope to peel away a gossamer thin layer of reality, not just to document the real but also to reveal what might be. BIOGRAPHY Given my restless history, it is curious that I became a figurative painter in New York City. My maternal Grandparents fled Hitler's Germany in the late 1930's. After being refused entry to the United States, they were welcomed into the Dominican Republic, where they happily resided in a small orderly bungalow of their own design and made their living as studio photographer and cheese maker...

Confetti Rain 2. landscape impressionist
Located in Palm Desert, CA
Rain on the windshield falls in fat, colorful drops, and rivulets. Painted in layers and textured with thick and thin paint. This one in a series of "windshield paintings" is painterly, brushy, and slightly textured. It is painted on gallery wrapped linen over 1 1/2 inch deep stretchers, with color matched, hand painted edges, wired with finger friendly coated wire and ready for installation. From the artist: An unexpected, but welcome rain, as experienced from a place of comfort. My windshield paintings aim to capture these fleeting and intimate moments in time and reveal the serene center that can arise in the midst of natures turbulence. A childhood of moving and traveling around the United States has shaped Katherine Kean's vision, as have journeys to eastern Africa, Mexico, Scotland, France and painting jaunts all over Kean's now native California. Born in West Virginia, moving later to Ohio and New Jersey, but growing up mainly in Massachusetts, she attended Rhode Island School of Design, graduating with a BFA in Film, Video and Animation. Long fascinated by the intersection of order and chaos in the natural world, Katherine Kean skillfully uses observation, memory, and interpretation to translate her love of natures kinetic phenomena into paintings that capture the often turbulent emotions within light, weather, and landscapes. Her work has exhibited in museums and galleries across the United States, including the LACMA Art Rental and Sales Gallery and the Brand Library Art Gallery in Los Angeles...

By Marco Antonio Gomez
Located in Soquel, CA
Bold desert scene with Apaches on horseback by Marco Antonio Gomez (Mexican, 1910-1972). Three riders pause at the top of a hill with several riders trailing behind them. The desert stretches into the distance behind them, terminating in a range of mesas. Summertime
Located in Sag Harbor, NY
An impressionistic painting of a landscape. Thick loose brushstrokes of green represent the healthy foliage of summer. A blue body of water behind the trees reflects the brightness of the blue sky dotted with puffy white clouds. Framed in a white washed natural wood floating frame. Framed dimensions: 31 x 21 inches Kelly Carmody has exhibited at venues including the Portrait Society of America and the Art Students League. Most recently, she was selected for the 2015 BP Portrait Award Show at the National Portrait Gallery in London and the 2016 Outwin Boochever Award at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington D.C.
