Cloned Penguin with pet bottle (black)
Located in Malmo, SE
Original sculpture 5/8 ex. Silver plated bronze. Acquired directly from the artist. Free shipment worldwide. William Sweetlove, born in Ostend, Belgium, in 1949, unites dadaism with surrealism and pop art in humoristic sculptures that at first sight may seem “kitschy”. However, closer familiarity with his works reveals their role as a creative antidote to the overproduction and overconsumption of our society. With his cloned animals William Sweetlove calls for greater ecological awareness and urges us to reflect on the consequences of the climate change challengeing humanity. His cloned dogs wear boots since the sea level rises and the penguins carry water bottles since we are runnig out of drinking water. William Sweetlove has had exhibitions at art fairs, galleries and museums all over the world. His works are found in several private art collections. He has also participated in different art manifestations worldwide together with the Italian Cracking Art Group...

Five years later after arriving in California, Makovkin took some samples of his ceramics to Gumps, a high-end department store in San Francisco. Porcelain allows me stretch and shape the clay in any way I choose and offers a blank canvas for my floral imagery and luscious, rich glazes to blend. The forms I create are tight and precise with a sense of restricted volume. I use bands around the form to constrict specific areas of each piece, while at the same time creating space for the volume and fullness to escape. The bands create registers to frame my drawings and paintings of floral imagery. The way I combine surface and form is inspired by Ming Dynasty porcelain...

Panther striding upwards / - The powerful elegance of animalism -
Located in Berlin, DE
Arthur Dupagne (1895 Liège - 1961 Woluwe-Saint-Pierre), Panther striding upwards, c. 1938. Patinated bronze in full cast on a hollow-cast terrain base, signed in the cast “Dupagne”, 22 cm (length) x 13.5 cm (height) x 6 cm (width), 1.35 kg. - Patina somewhat rubbed, slightly bumped in places, in good overall condition. - The powerful elegance of animalism - The powerful panther strides up a rock formation and pauses at the edge, overhanging it with his left paw to peer into the distance. He seems to be surveying his territory and searching for prey at the same time. Even if the predator pauses, the impulse to move upward may continue with a mighty leap the next moment; after all, the panther seems to have already caught the scent and made visual contact. The staircase-like rock formation shows the panther's strength, which is present down to the tip of its tail, in the elegance of its supple, powerful movement. Arthur Dupagne certainly studied these movements in nature, and yet he formulates the musculature in the geometricized language of Art Deco. This does not transform the panther into an abstract creature of art, but rather expresses the fullness of power and the exciting dynamics of its inner movement. Dupagne also transferred the artistic experience he had gained in the Congo of a powerful, original African art...

Panther Big Game Trophy Natural Sisal Fiber Sculpture Puma Anne Andersson Art
Located in Surfside, FL
Anne Andersson Sisal fiber wall sculpture Black Panther Head (# 1) Hand signed to verso Dated 2008. Measures approx. 12 1/4" height x 8 1/2" width x 8 3/4" depth Her sculptures are made of natural sisal Fiber from an agave and meticulously hand painted. The eyes are hand blown glass. Anne Andersson was born in Gothenburg, Sweden, with a great desire to explore Nature and a Passion for Art. She received a degree in science in 1981 from Kjällbergska University in Gothenburg and a degree in Art from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. She now works from her studio in St. Petersburg, Florida as a Sculptor, illustrator and painter. Her work calls to mind the animalia artworks of Henri Maik and Gustavo Novoa. Anne Andersson's artwork serves as an homage to our planet’s charismatic and rare wild animals. Inspired by the majesty and beauty of exotic wildlife, and motivated by an urge to preserve them, Anne’s astonishingly realistic life-size sculptures capture the experience of seeing these animals up close without exploiting them. Her sculpted work using natural materials and clay, provides a humane alternative to big game trophy hunting and taxidermy. She combines her talents in painting, tapestry weaving and illustration with an intuitive attention to the smallest detail to truly bring her sculptures to life. She has created lions, tigers, leopards, jaguars, cheetahs, bobcats, lynxes, pumas, panthers, elephants, rhinos, bears, water buffalo, bison, moose, wolves, coyotes and more—but she feels closest to the big cats. Anne graduated with honors at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale in 1989. It was then that she met Don Moore...
