Flag Halyards

The configuration of the flag halyard gives the design a powerful optical quality.

The chair is made with 240 continuous meters halyard flag. The halyard is made of natural flax rope around a strong enough static leather inlay stretching to avoid unnecessary wear.

Despite this infidelity to wood, its favorite material, the Flag Halyard armchair sports a very Wegnerian style.

The name ‘Flag Halyard’ refers to the innovative material that Wegner uses: The rope Wegner selected to create the seat was usually used to lift a flag.

This model is known as Model 225 or Flag Halyard Chair. It is very original in Wegner creations as he used to work mostly with wood.

This model GE671 sofa was manufactured by GETAMA and features a molded oak veneer frame with a flag halyard back. Cushions are reupholstered in wool.
