Custom French Plaster Chandelier in the Style of Jean-Charles Moreux
About the Item
An Elegant and Timeless, Custom, French Modern Neoclassical Plaster Chandelier / Pendant or Flush Mount Ceiling Light in the style of the French Mid-century architect-decorator Jean-Charles Moreux (1889 - 1958). Moreux was known for his one of a kind, exotic interiors that pushed the boundaries of contemporary design. He initiated the practice of using wrought iron outdoor furniture indoors and used collections of natural specimens in his interiors. This piece is composed of a hand made plaster reflector and suspended by rope from a metal canopy. The total dimensions and total height can be customized and adjusted to need.
Other French Mid-century artists and designers that created hand made plaster pieces included Serge Roche, Alberto and Diego Giacometti, Jean-Michel Frank and Andre Arbus.
