Suzani From Bukhara

The pillow cases are made from an antique Uzbek Suzani from Bukhara. It is silk embroidery on a handwoven cotton field.

Suzani is almost never used condition except the chewed up corners that has been damaged from its being hung on a wall.

Nim is a name referring to smaller suzanis and this is a very good example done is chain stitch technique.  

'Nim' means half the size of a regular suzani. It has slight surface staining due to age and use.
