A magnificent, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver Louis style spirit kettle; an addition to our antique silver teaware collection. This magnificent antique Victorian Louis style silver spirit kettle, in sterling standard, has a baluster form. The surface of this antique silver kettle is embellished with exceptional chased floral sprays accented with scrolling leaf borders and trellis patterns. The decoration to the kettle incorporates a large scroll bordered shaped vacant cartouche to either side. This antique silver kettle is fitted with a hinged hallmarked cover encircled with further chased floral decoration with a cast and applied scrolling border to the shaped rim. The cover is surmounted with the exceptional and original fine and impressive cast sterling silver finial; the finial secures to the interior with a screw fitment. This exceptional example of antique teaware is fitted with an impressive sterling silver handle ornamented with an impressive central foliate design to the handpiece, incorporating an oval vacant cartouche. The handle is further ornamented with impressive opposing scrolling terminals in junction with the body. The exceptional kettle detaches from the original hallmarked cast sterling silver stand, supported by three impressive scrolling legs to magnificent leaf decorated feet. The upper portion of the stand is embellished with impressive scrolling leaf and floral decoration. The stand incorporates a plain scrolling frame which retains the original hallmarked detachable spirit burner; the burner is encircled with bands of thread decoration.
