The posterior surface of each piece is ornamented with an embossed scene depicting a man in period attire holding a staff; it can be determined this figure is a shepherd. The body of each piece features a shaped vacant cartouche, flanked with a resting sheep and structure design, all amidst the aforementioned foliate decoration.
