Francois Batet was born in 1923 in Barcelona, Spain. He studied painting at the School of San Jordi (Beaux-Arts) and also at Tarrega Academy. While he was in Madrid, he studied under masters such as Francisco de Goya and Diego Velázquez. He then moved to Paris and studied under famous French Impressionist painters. He has lived and worked in France since 1950. Batet's classic School of Paris style recalls the spirit of Paris in the 1920s and 1930s. In addition to being a master printmaker, he has illustrated over 100 books. Batet has exhibited throughout the world including France, USA., Japan, Belgium, Germany, England, Korea, Australia and South Africa.

MAGDALENA SPASOWICZ Studied painting under prof. Jan Cybis and graphic arts with prof. Tadeusz Kulisiewicz at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She received her diploma in 1953.
