An exceptional, fine and impressive, set of four antique Edwardian Scottish sterling silver egg cups and spoons in the Art Nouveau style - boxed; part of our dining silverware collection This exceptional antique Edwardian Scottish sterling silver egg cup set consists of four egg cups and four spoons. Each of these impressive sterling silver egg cups have a bell-shaped form onto a circular spreading foot. The hallmarked body of each of these silver egg cups has a planished finish. The body of each piece is supported by three tyg* style handles in the Art Nouveau style. Each antique egg cup retains the original gilt interior. The original four hallmarked Scottish sterling silver spoons have a plain tapering form and a planished finish. This exceptional antique Edwardian set of four Scottish sterling silver egg cups and spoons are fitted to the original presentation box with a satin and velvet lined interior, securing with a push fit catch. The impressive velvet interior incorporates bespoke insets for each egg cup and spoon, in addition to two pivoting restraints to keep the spoons securely in situ. This is a very attractive late Edwardian period crystal cut glass bottle or small Jar with a sterling silver lid, handmade and fully hallmarked by Edward & Sons, Regent Street, London, 1911. The bottle or jar sits on a small foot and has an oval shape with vertical flutes that are handcut in panel sections. It has a sterling silver top or lid which has been made by silversmith Edward & Sons and marked London 1911. Edward & Sons was registered as a Silversmith from 1901. The top is fully hallmarked on the side of the lid for London 1911. It is nice to find a piece which is plain and not engraved with a monogram. The inside of the lid is gilded which is always a sign of good quality.
