Jérôme Danzel was born in 1755 in Abbeville. He was a French artist and engraver. Danzel was a pupil of Flipart. His best-known works includes Rape of Proserpina, Venus and Adonis after J. Bethon; Venus and Aeneas after Boizot; Vulcan Giving Venus Weapons for Aeneas after François Boucher and Croesus the Priest after Fragonard.
