This magnificent antique George IV English sterling silver soup tureen has an oval rounded form. The lower portion of the body is encompassed with impressive chased fluted decoration in a subtle swirl design. A fine and impressive antique Edwardian English sterling silver soup tureen; an addition to our silver dining collection This fine antique Edwardian sterling silver soup tureen has a plain oval shaped form onto a plain oval domed spreading foot. The surface of this piece is embellished with a bright cut engraved crest of on a chapeau turned up a lion rampant supporting an arrow palewise feathered and headed to one side. This antique silver soup tureen retains the original hallmarked push fit cover, surmounted with the original hallmarked detachable shaped scrolling handle with acanthus leaf decoration. The antique silver soup tureen is fitted with thread decorated loop handles with acanthus leaf terminals. Condition This antique silver soup tureen is an excellent gauge of silver, excellent quality and in excellent condition. This piece has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body have wear in keeping with age and location, but all remain legible.
