Hoshi devised a unique method for printing that involved gold and silver leaf, oil paints, and applying a torch to his woodblocks. The branches and the trunk have been printed with a three-dimensional effect. Hoshi’s prints apparently sold out as soon as he completed them. He gives trees their spiritual due.
